My mom passed away
She had been really sick the past couple of months and passed away this morning.
I don't need to do anything. Her wishes were to be cremated and have no services. My dad doesn't need me to help him with anything.
There was nothing. She was just gone.
I didn't have a good relationship with her because her drinking had gotten really bad since I was 16 and her narcissism on top of that made her unpleasant to be around. I broke contact with her in my twenties and moved across the country. Towards the last few years, she developed dementia.
...But I remember how she used to be. How she played Goof Troop with me on the SNES and we worked together to beat the puzzles and the whole game. How we'd just have talks in the kitchen/dining room. How she showed me how to bake. How she'd watch soap operas on a tiny black and white radio tv. How we'd read the Harry Potter series together and she gifted me the full set of hard covers once we finished it (Yes I know, the author is a piece of shit- it was back when no one knew about that.)
I don't really know how to feel.
At least she's no longer suffering and no longer in pain. Wherever she went, (Please no religious comments, just vibes) I hope she regained her memories and understands why I did the things I did. That nothing I did was ever in spite towards her. That I loved her and it hurt to see her destroy herself over the years.
But now I just...
idk.
I. REALLY. Need. A. Vacation.
But the economy sucks and I have no money.
Yippee.
