Ok Poppy is complicated when she was human 1949-1960 (1960 is the year she died and the same year the Genius Program started) she loved her father they were each otherās worlds and had a quiet positive relationship with him, but after her death that broke Elliot so the Genius Program was created.
And during 1985-1989 (Elliotās death year) Elliot he adopted Oliver. Oliver was bullied a lot by the other orphans and with the hammer incident, he was heavily disabled being either wheelchair bound or having to use arm crutches as his spine and one of his legs were broken beyond repair. Oliver was 13-16 (I canāt decide an age yet and I would need to change his age a bit for 2005 as heās the player) and he distrusted Elliot at first like why did this founder of the toy factory adopt me. And yes Elliot did experiment on Oliver but he was never turned into a toy. A prototype of the poppy gel was used on Oliver to see if it had that healing potential that Elliot hoped for and it did. It didnāt fix Oliverās leg, and back completely but it fixed it to a point that Oliver didnāt need a wheelchair and just needed a back brace and leg brace with a cane. And that moment seeing Oliver limp quickly around with the aid of a cane smiling and giggling was one of those moments after Poppyās death that Elliot smiled naturally at in a long time. Elliot knew he was old and most likely was going to die so he had his will already made. 50% of his wealth would go to other orphanages around the United States the other 50% would go to his adoptive child Oliver. Itās just he was hoping to see Poppy again before his death he never did and he would have burned all of his notes of the poppy gel if it didnāt go so wrong.
On the day of his ādeathā he finally finished Poppyās body and was just waiting for her to have movement in the poppy gel. So during that he was working on a mechanical jester a large jack in the box that was going to go where Huggy Wuggy is. It was going to be his last work he does for his company as a fair well gift of sorts. He had the box, jester outfit done, and metal frame of the animatronic jester done. It never got finished.
Leith was the one who killed him 3 gun shot wounds. Leith found Elliotās notes and decided to call some of the people who helped Elliot with the research. (Dr.Whiteā¦.Harley comes in a bit later) White was the one who did the procedure on Elliotās body and oh boy it was a mess. Elliotās body was unrecognizable after it was finished. Leith found Poppy a bit after Elliotās procedure was done and thatās how they both got their numbers 1006 and 1007. Elliot didnāt wake up until 3 days late he was disoriented and horrified, his mind was in pieces, he couldnāt feel his legs (he had nun), his voice wasnāt his own.
Not too long after Elliot and Poppy was put in the same room. Poppy at the time still having the mind of a 11 was horrified of Elliot and couldnāt comprehend that thing was her loving father and so she would never believe that 1006 and Elliot were the same person. Elliot was joyful and horrified that 1 it worked his little girl was back and 2 that she is terrified of him and that broke his heart. Her scream still haunts him to this day.
Elliot does care a his little girl but there are some things he has done he wished he did differently too.
Elliot would never think Oliver would come back to the factory ever after his death so he didnāt recognize Oliver when he came back in 2005. So Elliot treated Oliver as a threat. Itās only itās too late when Elliot finds out who this outsider is. Some experiments can mentally age if their brains arenāt too messed up like Poppy,Theo, Dogday, Kissy, some of the smaller smiling critters, Kevin and Mathew. Most of the experiments donāt mentally age they either act more on instinct and fear or keep being somewhat childish like huggy, Jack, Lilly, the feral smiling critters, and Mommy long legs. There are instances that Poppy would resort to a more childish behavior with that being in fear and such cause she is sometimes that 11 year old child but she mostly acts mature.
Poppy does find out Oliver is her brother before Elliot does and is actually happy Elliot adopted someone else after her. So they both would have a sibling type banter and such (they stay in Safe Haven longer than in canon).
