There were certain moments, odd pockets in time where Kamukura’s thoughts synced with Hajime’s voice. Granted, it didn’t happen too often. Only when Kamukura had a little more to voice than his boredom and Hajime was dealing with bullshit they could both voice their two cents on.
“Nagito.” An exasperated sigh shared with Kamukura, no doubt. “We’re dating. We’ve been dating for the past few months—”
“And it’s an honor that I couldn’t possibly ever hope to deserve! You, the hope of humanity, dating me, a nobody with nothing but Lady Luck on his side…It’s a miracle to even think of something so preposterous occurring. I must be dreaming. That’s it!”
Speaking of odd pockets in time, Hajime also categorized a type where he wanted nothing more than to clasp his hand over Nagito’s mouth to stop him from spewing self-deprecating nonsense. Regarding Hajime as a messiah was absurd. He was as much human as Nagito, not some higher being hellbent on absolute salvation. “Anyways,” Hajime continued, clearing his throat, “you can drop the formalities. And stop putting yourself down like that. We’re equals.”
No we aren’t, Kamukura supplied. Hajime resisted the urge to bash his head against the floor.
