 “I’m the type that stays up at night after watching a spooky movie! I know, kinda lame but those flicks just get stuck in my head and I get totes afraid and stuff! Anyway, comedies sound great! I could bring some movies too, if that’s alright!” The more they talked, the more giddy Callie became. Something casual, cute, and all around a tad romantic had been something the idol was craving recently. She could only hope this would turn out well. She began to rock back and forth on her heels, grinning, before speaking up again.

 “Sooo, when do you wanna have this date? You probably guessed, but I tend to get busy a lot but I can make time so don’t worry about that!”

     ❝ that’s totally fine! yeah, the more the merrier! and uhm, well, i don’t         have a crazy schedule like you do, so i’ll leave that up to you! i really         can work around any time or date! i...don’t do much! ❞

—— ❝ Oh, probably. Y’know, it’s usually more about how ya use it than whatever raw power it’s got — but you probably won’t have much trouble with that kind of thing unless you’ve got a lot of enemies … or people have some kinda reason to wanna go after you. ❞

—— It was a scary-sounding ability, he’d admit that much, especially for someone who seemed as kind as she did — but, then, Magenta hardly knew this woman, did he? He knew better than to judge on first impressions alone ( at least, he should know better, by this point ). Nonetheless, it wouldn’t be an issue unless a fight broke out between them, and he had no intentions to start up anything like that. 

—— ❝ By the way, I don’t think I caught your name. ‘M Magenta. ❞

     ❝ mm, i should be a-okay then. i have enemies...just not in this         country. ❞

What enemies could she of really made? It only would add a layer of mystery to her. Given how polite she had been despite everything, it was almost hard to imagine her as some sort of ruffian. 

The albino perked up and tapped her fingers to her cheek. She must of gotten so carried away with the questions that she never said her name.

They all come in duos where Inka is from, it seems. This made Mettaton wonder if he should get himself a sidekick that was the exact opposite of him, but that would mean that they’d have no sense of fashion and a bad habit of telling terrible jokes just to irk him.

He was probably better off without a pun-heavy weirdo in his shadow, though.

“Do they tell fish jokes every five seconds as well?”

Case in point.

     ❝ no-- not all the time. it’s just a part of our culture, i guess.         for me, it’s more or less cuz my dad speaks like that. it just         rubbed off. my big bro does that, too. and i’m sure my lil sis         would if she wasn’t a mute. ❞

He threw another clay target out into the sand, and managed to scare away a group of the birds, only for them to return moments later. Their persistence was admirable to Popee, but he wasn’t going to stand for being made fun of by brainless city chickens.

“Still want them to leave, though. Can ZILLA move fast enough to kill them, or will Popee have to throw a bomb?”

Maybe bombing the poor birds wasn’t the best idea, but it sure did sound fun to him. They’d probably explode into a cloud of blood and feathers, never to fly around a pester anyone ever again.

Tapping a claw to her chin, she watched the birds ever so carefully. Maybe she could be quick enough to snatch at least one of them. After all, her senses and reaction time was much better in the toasty warmth of her new home.

     ❝ maybe! lemme see-- ❞

With her body held close to the ground, she would slowly wiggle her tail before lunging up and snatching one right out of the air. She held the bird, but it was clear she must of squeezed it a bit...too hard, as it was limp.

     ❝ ha! got one! ❞

   “America is pretty neat, isn’t it~? But here, have a banana,” he said and reached into his coat pocket, withdrawing a banana and handed it over to the stranger. “Where do you come from if you don’t mind me asking?”

     ❝ it is! so much bigger than back home, too! i just wish i wouldn’t         get so many funny looks, but that’s okay. ❞

No wonder people stared. She DID have tentacles for hair, after all. Taking the banana and peeling it, she looked around.

    “Well.. some call me a monster before I kill them.. But i am known to be a Noah. I have abilities that normal humans do not possess… As well as blood lust. My blood nags me to kill people. Guess I’m just, over the top with darkness~,” he said. “Enough about me, what about you? What kind of deity are you?”

Wowie, did this guy spell trouble! And the kitsune very much liked trouble! It was her purpose to cause and spread it, after all. No wonder she felt oddly pulled to him. Tapping her claws together, she put on a grin.

The inkling celebrity was tired herself. But was she tired enough to say no to company and food? Absolutely not! Besides, she could make room in her schedule tomorrow for some extra rest.

“Yeah! Let’s go! Onward to food!”

Callie sprung out of her chair was vast energy, practically running towards the door. Only to smack right into the glass window by mistake.

No doubt a humorous sight for anyone watching outside right now.

“…I always hit that window for some reason.”

Something to eat after all the exercise today was definitely deserved for the both of them, it would seem. That had the question of WHAT to eat, but Inka was probably the LEAST picky squid you could ever find.

Ears perked up when the other inkling smacked into the window. With a small quick of concern, she held her hands up.

     ❝ y--you good, chica? i can see why. i probably would of too if         you didn’t- ❞

—— ❝ Sure, if you’re that interested. ❞ Magenta leaned forward over the table, his hand dropping down to rest on the surface. He seemed to be incapable of speaking quietly, but there was an obvious effort made as he added, ❝ Mine’s a defensive ability. ‘S not very complicated, really — when I have it up, nothing can hurt me. ❞

—— … And he was rendered completely immobile, but there was no need to go sharing that just yet. 

Eveona wasn’t so worried about revealing her ability. So far, no one had  targeted her with their own. Perhaps she was thinking a bit too passively.  After so long of nothing happening, she was getting too comfortable. Oh well. 

      ❝ i see. mine can cause varying hallucinations. ❞

He explained it simply, and so did she. It did so much more than visual  hallucinations, but just in case, she chose to withhold much more. 

      ❝ that must come in handy whenever a fight occurs. ❞

“Aww! Well, I feel honored that you’re shocked to meet me.”

She had seen it many times were fellow inklings considered herself better than them. Which certainly wasn’t true! She was no grander than any common kid who attended splatfests.

It was a shame how the media went out of their way to elevate her a lot but hey what could you do? Callie just had to go out her way and show that it wasn’t true.

“Hey, would you like to hang out with me sometime? We could get food!”

Her body may be racked with aches and pains, but a chance to hang out with her sounded like such a delight! So far, she had made for nice company, and they only been talking for a few minutes! The inkling clapped her hands together and nodded her head, large tentacles flopping a bit with the movement.

     ❝ t-that sounds great! yeah! if you aren’t hurtin’ too much, maybe we         could go n’ do that now! ❞

 “Never ever?” Callie tilted her head slightly, sporting a curious frown. This was an adorable girl who seemed incredibly sweet and fun to be around! Why would anyone pass her by? The magenta squid shrugged off her sad thoughts and decided to offer sweet words, as her glossed lips tugged into a smile. “Well, I am glad to be your first!”

  “Oooh, that sounds really fun! I’m always down for just chillin’ out!” Something casual with little pressure was just what she wanted for a first date. Besides, she thought, they could definitely get to know each other better this way. “As long as we don’t watch any scary movies! Those freak me out!”

     ❝ nope. not ever. ❞

That and dating wasn’t really her mental focus until the last year or so. Before, it just didn’t have much appeal. Maybe it was because there was so much going on in her personal life? Who knows. Either way, she was ready to now, for sure. Nothing sounded better than a bit of romantic companionship. 

{{ L }} “Hmm, well my interest are almost all things cute, pastel and ladylike aaaaand machines. I love love love machines, mostly robots or variants like android and cyborgs. That sci fi shit is sooo cool.” Well the other sure got Gizmo started. “Lumi likes makeup, ooh yeah forgot tomorrow we were suppose to go look at some at this new beauty store that opened up like a week ago." 

Lumi was obviously embarrassed by Gizmo telling the other hand, he didn’t say anything but squeezed here hands. "Oops, yeah don’t tell anyone.” Gizmo quickly remarked.

While it was uncommon for a boy's interest, Matilda saw nothing wrong with it. She was a more of ‘do what you love despite what anyone says’ kind of person, and that applied to everyone.

     ❝ well, hey, no shame in that, Lumi. n’ robots n’ stuff? that’s not         an interest ya hear everyday. they are pretty neat, huh? i don’t         think bout’ em much, but i sometimes like to wonder what would         happen if we got a bunch’a em acting perfectly like humans.

“Well, it’s super nice to meet ya too Inka!” She chuckled once more  though it was less cheerful this time. A lot of people had that idea in  their minds considering who they were. But Callie had always been  an approachable squid. It just grew more as did her fame.

“It’s alright. A lot of squids are scared when it comes to chattin’ with  us. There’s no reason to though. I’m a squid, you’re a squid. We’re  all squids together!”

     ❝ i know, i know. i guess it’s sorta just the initial...shock? of meetin’         someone like you! ❞

The fact that ZILLA hadn’t even bothered getting up to investigate what Popee was doing was almost funny enough to snap him out of his bad mood. She almost looked like a big snake moving through the sand like that, only a whole lot more… intimidating.

“Tried to smash birds with clay birds. Thought it would be funny, but they keep flyin’ out of m’ throwin’ range! ‘N I gotta get rid o’ these throwing things one way or another. Figured…. kill two birds with one stone. Or… with clay things. ZILLA understands, yes?”

He was obviously still angry over all that, but he smiled just a bit at his own terrible pun that he didn’t even get until a few seconds passed.

ZILLA stared up at the birds, and then down at him.

     ❝ --yes. ❞

She did not. But that was fine! She didn’t seem to understand much of anything sometimes. Her knowledge was...far spread and on weird topics. At least some of it was useful!

     ❝ why ya messin’ with em, though? you gonna eat em? ❞

“Sweet! I can’t wait to make it now!” 

Her energy was certainly returning now as Callie spun repeatedly in her chair. Though her feet still kinda did hurt. Ah well!

The squid couldn’t help but chuckle. “The world is a crazy place! You never know what you’ll come across or do! But thanks for the little tune. What’s your name by the way? I gotta give credit where it’s due!”

     ❝ right? it’s nuts! this was the last time i expected to happen today, really!         yet, here i am! m-my name is Inka! Inka Splattwell! it’s super nice to like,         meet n’ talk to ya like this! i didn’t think you or Marie would be so rad         to chat with! ...c-cuz work n’ all that. that’s all- ❞
