Choices, chances, changes.
A major step in getting ready to leave K-land. Can't wait to go, too many bad memories here.
Guess what Iiiiiiiiii did? Tee hee!
With now just over 100 days left in Korea, I am getting so excited and terrified at the same time. As much as I've hated this place, it's still been my home for 5 years. Now to embark on something new, solo, is definitely stirring up some feelings. It's not going to be easy, packing up my life here - literally so many things to figure out: cancelling cable/internet/phone, getting housing deposit back, prepping the dogs for travel, applying for my pension, closing bank accounts, selling everything, shipping everything, and the list goes on....but to keep my anal-retentive self sane, I've made monthly to do lists so I can split things up over the course of a few months. I have learned my lesson from friends who left everything to the last minute and had meltdowns and one had to return to finish up his pension application. Don't want to be doing that. I have so many things planned next year and I'll actually be super busy but in a good way, doing all the things I love - being creative, traveling, volunteering at the animal shelter, doing yoga, getting my tan back ha ha. Hopefully everything works out with my application to stay in the states past the 6 months Canadians are allowed per year. Can't wait to go to Hawaii for the first time, and have an extended visit back home to Toronto, and to live in Guatemala for a few months and most likely a trip to Northern Europe!

Life has been a bitch lately, can't wait to relax in my private villa on Bali!!!! Counting down!!! This month is super busy with friends from Taiwan visiting and my parents coming. Then it's the holidays and then I only have 2 months left in Korea and so much to take care of before I leave. And then it's off to sunny Cali for a few months with a family trip to Hawaii and a Toronto visit and who knows where else? Guatemala is still in the books but have also been eyeing a Northern Europe trip. Seeing the aurora borealis would be pretty amazing...
124 more days in Korea
Please let February come faster.
I feel like the column on the left was written about my ex-boyfriend.
Animals are amazing. Today, for the first time in 2 weeks, I slept properly with this teddy bear in my arms. I have been exhausted, mentally, emotionally, physically - but could not sleep. But today, as this sick dog lay beside me, I finally let it all go and lost myself in dreams. I feel like he was sent to me, at this time in my life, on purpose. I see how much he has suffered and continues to suffer because of neglectful humans, and yet is still the most loving dog. Life is not easy, and I should never expect it to be, but you get through it and better yourself from it, and never make the same mistake again. Thanks dog :)
Well it tells you and me and anyone who pays attention that we don't own pain. There seems to be plenty to go around.
Something my stepfather said to me today. Pain is inevitable, it comes in different forms and there are different causes. It's something everyone must experience. I have to feel this, I have to work through it and realize at the end of the day, my life is not over, far from it. It's time to focus on me, on what's important.

Ladies, I've discovered a new website. Free 2-3 worldwide shipping, no minimum spending. My wallet is hating me already. Just made a small order to test it out, can't wait for my new goodies!

Epic day :D
Age ain't nothin but a number. I just turned 30, and it was amazing. Spent it with my favourite people, got my real flower crown and giant number balloons! In 2 weeks, I will go to Taipei as a birthday prezzie from the bf.
Who run the world?
Girls :P

It's still a year away but I am so damn excited for our future plans after Korea. Nothing is set in stone yet because it depends on when Yormy finishes. He's in between jobs so we're not sure whether he will be done in March or May. If he has to stay til May, then I will go back to North America for March and April of 2017. It'll be really nice to catch up with friends and family and a good chance also for me to really up my yoga practice in preparation for the teacher training course. If he finishes in March, then we are off to Germany and I won't get a chance to go back home before another almost year abroad. But my family is dying to visit me in Europe ha ha so I am pretty sure they will be more than happy to come see us in Germany. We'll stay there for 2 months in a rental, during which I will take my dogs to a professional obedience trainer and we will scope out life in Leipzig and see whether it is actually where we want to start a business or not. To pay for living costs, without digging too much into my savings, I'll be doing some online work for just a few hours a day, maybe 3hrs every morning. And I will be looking into freelancing as well. After that, the dogs will be boarded in Germany for 6 months!! And off we go to Guatemala! Our first month we will spend in the gorgeous apt I've linked. It is on the high end in terms of rent there but still so affordable. And for our first month, we just want to be comfortable while we explore the area and decide which community we want to settle in for the remainder of our trip. Because there are all these little villages dotting Lake Atitlan and they are all a little different and it's hard to decide without checking them out in person. We will also take Spanish lessons our first month and use our free time to of course, relax, but also to do some sightseeing to places like Tikal and other cities such as Antigua. I also want to practice yoga as much as possible and there is a thriving community of yogis there. Yormy is going to try to find some pt work in a local cafe to gain experience. Then from the 2nd month, we will move to a diff area most likely to a more modest and cheaper "casita". I will be doing a 21-day course from 6am-9pm so it makes little sense to spend a lot more on a nice place when I'll never be home. Yormy will advance his diving certification in his free time. After my course is done, it'll be time to source coffee roasters for our potential future as cafe owners. In addition, I want to volunteer with "Mayan Families" in their animal welfare or artisan area and hopefully find connections to co-ops to start my textiles business online. Then it's goodbye Guatemala! And off to El Salvador and Nicaragua and Belize for a few more months of relaxation and exploration, before heading back to Germany to figure out the next step!
Okay, I am officially banned from shopping for…. a few months (let’s see how long I last ha ha) Spent so much money, my bank account hates me. I bought a Vita Fede bracelet, a Valentino bag, the Stuart Weitzman boots, Gentle Monster sunglasses, a vintage silk bomber, some Shashi jewelry and then Shopbop comes at me with their 25% off sale! I succumbed and bought 2 pairs of Madewell sandals -_- but that’s it! I’m done! And to curb my spending because I've also been dining out everyday, I decided to be a good girl and enjoy my terrace with a free cup of homemade coffee ha ha.
