I am the resident meme maker of LBMSWA (the best discord ever, run by Firefly) and am known for making memes in like, less then 10 seconds that apply to the conversations.

Techno is so clear and direct in experiencing his emotions and expressing them.

Phil tried to speed run mourning his son and has looked at an emotion direcly in 367 years.

Maybe it because people see Technos jokes as repression rather than a coping skill, and see Phil's laughter as him being genuinely fine rather than his default response, but like techno genuinely experiences and can verbalise his emotions sincerely and directly.

YES!!! I am especially in agreement on 'Techno waits to process them when it's safe but he DOES process them and doesn't stop himself feeling them in the moment,' and the 'Philza has the aesthetic of emotional vulnerability" but honestly, I don't think Phil even means to do that, he is just like, very good at listening to and mirroring other people.

Like we've seen him come close to being actually emotionally vulnerability like a handful of times, like- The book he wrote for Ghostbur, 'Since i was forced to kill my SON you IDIOT, when do you THINK', kinda when he spoke to Ranboo about Ghostbur, when he was talking to Techno before he went to prison, a little bit from when Techno came back.

But the rest of the time we see him he's generally listening to and mirroring the people he's talking to: ie When he speaks to Wilbur after his return, his conversation with Fundy when he took him fishing and he spoke to Fundy after when Wilbur returned, when he spoke to Ranboo after doomsday, when he spoke to Ranboo about the splash bottles, most conversations with Techno where techno talks about how he's doin, his conversations with Tommy -

those are all times where it feels like he's being emotionally vulnerable but in reality he's listening and mirroring the people he's talking to, occasionally responding with his own anecdote.

And i don't think he intentionally cultivates that aesthetic, i think it's just a biproduct of how he functions in those conversations.

Like, its definitely useful for him! cause he seems well adjusted and emotionally literate so folks don't tend to ask him or pressume he's not doin well, but i dunno if he like- does it on purpose to avoid it if that makes sense.

He just like, generally finds emotions and processing to be like- inconvenient and often unsafe to like have (so much of phil is rooted in survival) so he simply doesn't.
