Yeah, everyone and their moms have probably talked about this, but I'm wondering, literally, what freedom would Simon have gotten?

"And then I'm free." Free to go where? Do what? They wouldn't send him back to Eden, and Eden wouldn't take him. Would he work for the COI? Would his freedom just mean he was no longer their convict? But would that even be freedom? If he was still seen as Convict, Butcher, Eden Fuck.

I guess that's the point. Of the note in the SM-13. There really are only a few dying ships, and freedom means nothing. But still. I'm genuinely wondering.
