“Wait, really? Witches? Where did you hear that from? That’s crazy.” Simona replied, they were very intune with the rumours flying around, some of them sounded a lot more real than others. “Maybe we need to try and get you on some more peoples good sides. Bake them some brownies, or something.” 

“I don’t think so, especially since I had to tell you about it.” They spoke with a shake of their head. “Great, do you need to practice any more before we try?” 

“Possibly, but it’s okay. I can help you think of a good one. I’m quite believable.” They replied, placing a confident smile on their face. “I hope so. Unless it ends up being worse. Will you stop me from getting a job that’s worse than school?” 

Simona loved how Winnie was so supportive, even if it was apart of a joke. “Do you think so? Maybe I should sign it so everyone knows it was by me.” They spoke, “Or maybe I should practice my signatures for when everyone starts asking me for my signature?” 

“It’s gotten me by so far,” They spoke with a laugh, it was their usual mentality regarding school work. “You’d think so, right? But no. All my cupcakes get burnt to a crisp. Maybe with you following me it won’t end up so bad for my cupcakes.” They suggested. “I know! It’s so strange, you’d think they’d be where I left them but no. Gone in thin air.” 

“Please. Please tell me you were listening in our last potionology class?” Simona practically begged the other, hoping for a good response as they looked to their blank pages. “Save me. I’m begging you.” 

Simona nodded along slowly as the other talked, they tried to wait until Lucas had stopped talking but half way through the conversation, Simona was getting more and more confused. “Wait, you aren’t talking about me, are you?” 

“Dude, seriously. Can you stop leaving your stuff around everywhere?” Simona spoke with a glaring look. “I swear, this is the third time today that I’ve tripped over your bag.” 

“I think ‘this is amazing!’ are the words you’re looking for.” Simona commented as they held up their attempt of painting the skyline, it looked more like a child had attempted it. “Do you think we can hang it on the fridge?”

“Okay, I meant it as a joke.” Simona spoke, sighing as their joke didn’t hit as intended. “Can you just pretend to laugh?” 

“I have never laughed at you once in my life,” Simona spoke with clear exaggeration, pretending to be offended by the accusation of their level of care. “Lost a limb? That’s a good idea, do you think you can fake something like that? Hide your arm in your shirt maybe?” 

“Now, why did you have to bring the legality into it?” They spoke with a tilt of her head. “You could have done that thing... what’s it called? Pleading ignorance. Where you didn’t know the rules.” They replied with a sigh, “Could you help me study, then?” 

“We can always pretend to be champion bakers though, can’t we?” They suggested with a laugh. “I’m a lot better at cooking than baking but at home my Mums love to cook so I never get much of a chance in the kitchen.” They spoke with a shrug. “Not that I’m complaining, the stress isn’t great in general but it’s amazing for a nap.” Simona agreed. “For the most part, yeah. And the best part is, especially at home, with so many siblings sometimes they just go missing. Completely by accident,” They spoke, laughing as they did. 

“I know lots of stuffs, thank you very much. It would be nice if you noticed,” They teased to the other. “Hmm, I think with the pout absolutely. Just don’t forget the pout, okay?” 

“I’m afraid I may have pulled you under the bus with me, then.” Simona admitted, making a face as they talked. “You’re probably right, but it would be so nice. I can’t wait until we graduate and actually have some free time without some kind of deadline in the distance.” 

Simona was enjoying the attempt to wind up the professor, especially since it seemed so easy. “So you don’t do any overtime? This is why our assignments take so long to come back to us, you don’t help out any of the other professors in the marking.” Simona said with a shake of their head, as if they were disapproving. 

“Horrible. I thought I had been making that obvious?” Simona asked with a tilt of their head. “They sound pretty similar to me. Did you not feel like picking up some extra work? That’s a bit slack of you.”
