Sonic would be lying if he said he saw it coming. He’d probably never get used to being pushed with those powers— it was startling! There was no way for him to have seen it coming.

And he definitely wasn’t expecting Silver to react in such a way. Sacrifice himself? Hide away?

Was that a lie? It could’ve been a lie. Was being arrested considered ‘going away’? Because that very well could happen.

Psychokinesis kicked in. He was fairly upset over the implication that Sonic had intended to flat out leave, probably to run from everything that troubled him. It wasn't too violent, just a glowing cyan grip on the blue hedgehog and a bump back against the wall no harder than a shove. Just enough to make sure he'd be around to hear the full rant.

DARE with that cliche sort of talk. This is the same sorta thing that the hero says before he sacrifices himself. And do you think everyone he left behind is happy he's gone? Do they ever think "oh we're better off without him now, it was so nice of him to take a hit for us"? No way! They keep thinking about all the other ways they could have done it without losing him. So if you think you're going to hide away, travel the world, and never see us again, forget it. I'm not "taking care of her" for you. You'll have plenty of chances to make sure she's fine because you're her hero.

He felt somewhat guilty for letting feelings from their old lives-- something that to them only existed in dreams they shared-- cross over into their reality. However Blaze didn't seem to be offended, and even soothed his mind. He couldn't resist the smile she gave and kissed her cheek.
