ye olde wooden washtub — a recolour by silverseaming

this is simply an extremely rough and ready recolour of the wash tub that came with the laundry day stuff pack. i found myself wanting a more medieval option for my ultimate decades challenge, and then only good alternative i could find was perma-paywalled so i thought i'd share my version with everyone!

my graduation was a couple of weeks ago and i don't start work until september so i'm on holiday for the next month or so! while i did think i'd have loads of time to sim, but my time is quickly starting to fill up oops

When the time came for Thomas to leave, Elisabeth gathered the older children to say goodbye to him. While George was hesitant, hanging back beside his mother, Thomas knelt to hug young Tommy.

"Remember, Tommy, you're the man of the house now," he said, taking Tommy gently by the arms. "Look after your mother and your brothers and sister, will you?"

"Of course, Pa." Tommy replied, squaring his shoulders with resolve.

After Thomas said goodbye to the children, Elisabeth took his arm, leading him a little way from the door.

"Thomas, will you promise me something?" She asked.

"Anything, my love."

"Promise me you will come back?" The question was quiet to keep it from the children's ears, but she was unable to stop herself asking, finally putting voice to the fears that still stirred in the pit of her stomach.

Thomas cupped her face with his hands before he replied, an unreadable look on his face as he looked at it wife. Then his brow cleared, and he smiled softly.

"I promise, Eliza. I'll always come back to you."

After a great CC shopping session and an aging-up makeover I feel like I've finally got Elisabeth's outfits to a point that I really like! Her clothes are very much influenced by where I am in the challenge - the Bay doesn't yet have a trading post or much connection with the rest of the country, so she doesn't wear the latest fashions or overly fancy clothes. Living on a farming homestead also means there's very much a practical focus to her clothes.

The MacKenzies had become regular guests at the Alcotts' farm, providing much needed company. Ever since the news of war had reached the Bay, it had been hard to discuss anything else. Hearing about it from Iain and Claire, however, was starting to ignite more of Elisabeth's idealism. There had been a reason she agreed to move out here with Thomas, a wish to create something new and carve out their space in a young country.
