WATCHING HIM SIT ON your bed suddenly it feels a lot more real and a whole lot scarier. Maybe you should have just baked a cake with the colors of the flag, or given him a shoujo with a protagonist who identifies like you. Or you could just but it out… wait, what?
In a matter of a second red eyes connect with yours, “Okay." he says calmly, blink sheepishly at your sudden outburst. Standing up from you seat at the desk to start pacing around the room, “I am not saying this because I don't want to have sex with you. I don't want to have sex with you. But it's not because of you, it's because of me." you add on, a little panicked at his calming expression.
Closing his manga to fully give you the attention this topic deserves, his head tilts, “Why are you crying?" he asks. Raising your fingertips to your cheek, they are indeed wet. Something you didn’t even realises, “I don't know." you whisper, letting your hand fall to your side.
Standing up from his seating positions, he pulls you with him to sit on the bed. Letting you take a breath, he rubs circles into your hand, “Don’t people usually do this in like a grand gesture or a cake at least." he says.
Making you chuckle at the sudden statement, “You don't like cakes." you whisper, leaning your head to his chest. Humming, he nods, “I know, but I would have eaten it if it had a flag in it."
Lifting your head up, he cups your cheeks. Gently whiping them clean with the back of his thumbs, “Hey, I know... I know that I'm mean to you sometimes." he says. Making you nod, “But I like you a lot and that is not going to change."
A small smiles tucks up your lips at the softness, “You are all sappy now." you giggle. Making him roll his eyes as he looks away, “Shut up, I'm trying to be nice.” your boyfriend grumbles.
Wrapping your arms around him, you rest your head on his shoulder, “Thank you, dumbass."
“Don't call me dumbass, dumbass." he whispers back. Holding on to him, he rubs your back, “…Can we still have a cake?" he whispers. Nodding, you can’t help but smile at how well it went, “Sure.”
