headache after stomachache after fever, everything started blurring together. this morning you woke up early, with interrupted sleep making you more tired. iori had been persistent on checking up on you even if you kept saying it wasn't really needed. truthfully it was nice to have someone take care of you while you're sick, at least you didn't have to tire yourself out. but that couldn't be said for iori. "[name]-san, i've made okayu. make sure to eat it all, okay?" the warm smell of the okayu bowl was enough to open your appetite. enoki mushrooms were placed on top of the rice diligently.

"iori-kun, this looks delicious.. thank you." from what you recall the house had run out of rice just last night, that means iori had to go grocery shopping at an hour this early, but was that really alright? it's not surprising that iori would start pushing the boundaries of his own body though. showing a small frown you looked up at him. "you had to get up this early? you know you really didn't have to do so—"

"i didn't have to? i absolutely had to! that's because, i am a slave after all." he sat on the edge of your bed, almost looking offended. you should be used to this by now, especially after signing the slave contract. matter of fact it was a term that you should not feel guilty for iori's service.. his attention immediately went somewhere else which was the fact that you hadn't eaten anything out of the tray he had brought. "[name]-san, are you alright, you haven't even taken a bite of your food. can you move your arms? actually leave it to me — i'll feed you!" immediately jumping up from his seat, iori came next to you and grabbed the chopsticks on the tray. grabbing a small portion, he hovered the chopsticks in front of your mouth.

"say ahh.." he whispered. out of reflex you jumped a little by how fast he moved, and reluctantly opened your mouth. the taste was absolutely heavenly. at the back of your head, there were still many questions that had yet to be answered. "iori," you started, "why do you push your limit so much?" that was the biggest question back there. you didn't want to delay asking about it, and you didn't want the opportunity slipping away like many other times.

iori's smile stayed in place, yet his eyes became more empty. the usual shine on them—which were barely even there—went missing. a dull, meaningless smile was all that's left. "because, i am a hollow being with no use if i don't serve others."

"that's not an excuse to hurt yourself! look at your eyebags, they're basically saying 'notice me', you realize?" you bumped your index finger against his forehead. "besides, even if you persist you should only serve others, then take care of yourself so you do your best." there weren't many lines to say other than things similar to this, at last it will still convince iori to think about it just a bit.

iori blinked and his eyes looked over to the side. you were right, he really can't give it his all if he continues to ignore the warning sides of his own body. he's been told this many times. so for good service, and for good health, iori sighed and the sparkle in his eyes came back. "i'll.. pay attention, even if a little. because that's what [name]-san wants, right?"

if you've been in an established relationship for a while, or are just close in general, he wouldn't mind spoon-feeding you - or vice versa.

the red, square checkered table cloth in front of you had caught your eye. red, the colour of love, and the colour of passion. you aware aware you were staring off into space even though fumiya was in front of you. but there was no conversation to hold either, so it was only natural you had found yourself gazing away.

"oi," he called out. it brought you back into reality, and you noticed you hadn't been aware that the waitress was waiting for your order.

"yes, my apologies," you quickly skimmed over the menu again. your eyes settled on the strawberry cake and the caramel milkshake. pretty simple and straightforward options, rather different from what you have heard from rikai. you told the waitress your order, and before you could even look back at fumiya he had already began listing his own order.

"sizzling prickly picking chocolate sizzle molten lava cake, heaven's touch golden caramel angel macchiato fudge trifle, teddy-cutely squeaky choco tiffin, kitty meow meow warmhug kissy tart ..."

being able to pronounce the names without stuttering was a feat, you thought. it was mostly to make the desserts sound cute, anybody could guess - and it was fitting for the theme of the sweets shop, not to get anything wrong!

as he was continuing, you tried to smile faintly, but you could feel your own smile straining the longer he went on. to think about it, this bakery could take several local chocolate factories as a competition.

the waitress nodded and took off with the orders, leaving you and fumiya once again alone. what you noticed was him making an expression and mouthing something to the waitress. you couldn't make out what it was, however that's ito fumiya to you.

sitting in the overwhelming quiet between was awkward, as everyone else were chattering away. deciding it wouldn't hurt to break the silence, you decided to start with a simple conversation starter.

"... why do you frequent this place so much?" he glared at you for just about one or two seconds, but his expression quickly became neutral again. without attention on his face, one couldn't even spot the demeanor change. you're sure it wasn't meant in bad faith, and rather he is used to making expressions like that.

"why? since this place has variety and the taste." to him it was simple, a tasty sweets shop was the most natural thing he would be drawn to. who wouldn't? this cute, dazzling, and charming place may attract mostly young women, but that didn't forbid anyone else from coming.

"that's all?" you had figured he would take the price into accountability, considering his passion for japanese yen... he ended up putting sweets before money instead and rightfully so. the detail and thought in every baked piece was eye-catching, and most likely tasted as good as it looked. and with a sweet tooth like fumiya's, it was a guarantee that this place was perfect.

"mhm. that's all." he smiled, but he wasn't smiling with his eyes. to note, it's not different from any other time — though it still feels weird when you notice it. "you could've asked me for recommendations if you were unsure what to order."

"that's right..."

"each dessert tastes good, so i wouldn't worry either way—"

"excuse me!" another waitress, a clumsy one from the looks of it, had came up to the table. she diligently placed each of your orders in front of you and fumiya, while she looked distressed herself. from the looks of it, she had either clocked in recently or was simply unhandy in nature. either way, thankfully no accidents happened, and she left as you gave your thanks. sighing, you made a grab for your caramel milkshake only for it to be grabbed by fumiya instead. he knew what he was doing, taking a hold of the specifically requested two-way straw- and putting it in the milkshake all while smiling with delight.

"fumiya, did you want some of my milkshake? you could've just asked."

"... no, i didn't. but i wanted to share it with you. in return you can have some of my tiffin." fumiya nodded towards the tiffin with his head, already starting to take bites from the molten lava cake as well. gluttony with no bounds, you could call it even. upon noticing, you also started forking the strawberry cake in front of yourself. better not fall behind, in spite of the fact he has much more to eat than you. you couldn't really reject his offer, a romantic gesture from him would be something you'd rather not miss.

more often than not, he was out somewhere unnamed, in the backstreets, or at some sweets shop. he also avoided anything inconvenient for him with being evasive and running away. a chance like this is not something that happens often, so may as well take the hint.

once you leaned towards your milkshake, he was also quick to move towards it so he could be sipping at the same time. it made blood rush to your cheeks, but you didn't retreat from your position.

he chuckled to the straw, both of you taking sips at the same time. it was romantic, seeing him up so close, sipping from the same cup- albeit unhygienic, it was making him flush a little as well. it's not like it was his fault, it's his first time being this up-close with you. ... or that's what he would say if you confronted him.

after not even a while of persistence, the milkshake ran out. he said he didn't want any of the milkshake, yet still drank more than you did. it tasted good, but to say the least, you would never share a drink with fumiya again if this is what was going to happen.

yet still, sharing a drink with him has been something you've only dreamed about so far. having it happen, here and now, was that dream come true. it was almost like you could communicate without words. your cheeks got warmer, and so did his. his eyes averted their gaze but it was still evident that his intention was to drink most of the caramel milkshake.

but, still, if he put himself into a situation like this — maybe he really did replicate your feelings after all. maybe he did, because you could tell from his stiffer movements and him not backing away like this is something that makes uncomfortable. maybe, you could tell, because he wanted to show it to you.

fumiya wasn't good with words about his feelings, and these indirect actions allowed space for him to show himself without words. there's no way he was mirroring only you, fumiya wasn't that kind of guy. so maybe, you could get your hopes up.

he should be the only one giving you gifts, it's only right as he's your slave. he should be the one carrying your burdens, not anyone else.

his jealousy is not hard to spot, in fact it's clear as day, if you get gifts from anyone else and fail to hide it from him.

will accept a nap and cuddle session when you disguise it as "him making sure you sleep well".

he's hesitant and it's visible, but not as hesitant as he used to be. it's a part of free service after all. it would be wrong to deny a request like that.

he's not keen on this topic at all, so he needs to get assistance from a few others even though they mostly weren't helpful.

terra proposed gifting you a miniature version of herself (where would one even get that) while kei refused to help out.

he was on the brink of going mad, should he get flowers? no, too romantic. should he get you new shoes? no, he doesn't even know your shoe size.

in the end he settled for a prize plushie. not too big, not too small, just a medium size horse plushie. it's a grey horse with medium length mane, and it is very adorable to say the least.

he did struggle to get it, failing a couple of times in the most humourous way possible. but in the end he managed to obtain it!

it oddly reminds you of rikai in more ways than one ...

so he got you the best thing he can, a multipurpose jackknife made of steel.

he's alright with teaching you how to use the jackknife if you're not sure how to. the quick study session might be a little sloppy and messy, yet in the end he manages to get the basics into your head.

also would write you a birthday letter if he feels like it. it would be a bit too crudely and casual written, but his words are sincere. you told him not to get you a gift or two, so he absolutely has to.

his hugs and touch are rough, with calloused hands and some small wounds that are still healing.

though, you can tell they come from a place of fondness nevertheless.

ohse is talented in more ways than one, and trying to guess his gift would only make you brainstorm.

he is high maintenance, but he tries his best to return your care with handmade gifts and holding you in a high regard.

his gift is a fitted ring with beautiful carvings on it. if you prefer, it could be one with a gem on it as well. it's not meant as a proposal.

while receiving his gift, you have to plan your expression and thoughts beforehand.

even the slightest thing can set him off, and surely nobody wants that. convincing him to stop takes much strength both verbally and physically.

overall, you assure him you'll cherish his gift forever and decide to keep an eye on him for the rest of the day.

he'll refuse any physical contact, saying you're too good for him and that a living rotten flesh like him could only dream of it, that it's a joke from the heaven itself. it's up to you to convince him.

this man is from the tendou family, he is rich, no doubt he can get you something you'd like.

however, what you're met with when you see amahiko for the first time on that day, is amahiko himself wrapped up in red bindings. he claims, amahiko is the gift of amahiko.

if you shut him down, he's already got another gift prepared and it's something more personalized. he claims the gift would enhance your sexyness, picked with careful consideration from the world sexy ambassador. (misspelled on purpose)

he's open to physical touch more than others, and his touch is very comforting. he has a gentle embrace, and the atmosphere he radiates is calming in itself.

you're the only one in the share house who is open to cuddle with amahiko. and everyone else has their rightful reasons, you cannot blame them.

you've went to the sweets shop he frequents together before a few times.

he has a right to frequent that place, their sweets are almost heaven on one's tongue. some items on the menu have off-sounding names, but you don't need to put thought into that.

as a gift, he gets you a crepe, and one for himself too. and it seems, it's a distraction from the fact that a certain someone has inhaled your birthday cake without anyone noticing.

well, he got you a gift, and a replacement for the cake. it's killing two birds with one stone, right?

he enjoys physical touch, but not so in public. he'd prefer cuddling in your bed, as it looks like his own bed isn't the perfect example for it.
