One of last week's new adquisitions, from ExpOrquídea 2025, bought from my dear friends at Arte&Suculentas from Portugal.

My Catasetum gnomus was my entry for the Orchid Judging show that is taking place during ExpOrquídea 2025 (Madrid).

He has received three awards:

- First prize AIJO (Asociación Ibérica de Jueces de Orquídeas)

- First prize GECOR (Grupo de Estudio y Conservación de las Orquídeas)

- Best plant in show

This one is becoming one of my unexpected favourites. Stronge plant, very easy to care for, fantastic flowers, fabulous fragrance.

Bought as a Clowesia Grace Dunn, it flowered to be one of its hybrids: Clowesia Grace Dunn × Catasetum tenebrosum.

I am not that bothered because I also bought a Catasetum tenebrosum that turned out to be a completely different unidentified thing, and this one brings a similar vibe (high contrast flowers).

Possibly my strongest, most well behaved, zero problems Catasetinae in my collection.

She's been bone dry and without water since November 2024. I'll give her a couple more weeks before I start watering.

I let her out of the cage because she dropped the leaves 😁

This Phalaenopsis hybrid got sick with an unkown sickness last year. This pictures were taken on June 2024, before it inevitably lost the last leave.

But I didn't give up. I continued watering and soon it started to put out new leaves...
