a metaphor i came up with for regulating your habits and mental health!

watering, or taking in positivity, is an important part of letting yourself love who you are, and how you're changing from a bud to a flower. too much water, meaning wanting to stay stagnant and hydrated with only positives, can kill your development as a person. positive self image is important and crucial, but get too in your head, and you'll become arrogant or even mean

weeding, or acknowledging the negatives, is important to changing things you think or say in ways that are healthier, more manageable, and more grounded in reality. you have to weed your garden, because if you let the weeds reign, they'll take control of the entire plot, and you'll have to work much harder to tame them. trying to purge your garden of every weed however is not healthy; trying to get rid of all the "bad" about you makes it hard to appreciate all the "good".

a balance of both will help you bloom

sometimes you'll overwater, sometimes you'll underweed.. sometimes you'll underwater and overweed. and that's okay. not everyone's garden needs to look the same, for everyone is their own special flower
