Where old stone keeps the warmth of the sun, and every shadow remembers a story,
I walked through Kassel as if time itself had paused to breathe beside me.

Terrace
The unhurried rhythm of a town that refuses to rush.
Zoomed in until it stopped being a thing and became just shape and light.

Lelystad Station
Clean lines, glass, and steel, the kind of architecture that feels almost too quiet for how much happens here every day. Built with function in mind first, but there's something photogenic about it too, especially early in the morning when the light is soft and the platforms are nearly empty.
But standing here every day to catch a train to Amsterdam for work is a completely different experience than this... this photo, taken during May break, early morning.
Same station. Same platform, maybe. But without the rush, without the routine, it becomes something else entirely. Spring break or not, I still had to hop on the train. At least it rewarded me with a great picture.

Bruges
A façade, quiet and golden. Light falls through the trees the way it only does in old cities; soft, filtered, like it's been there as long as the stones.
Behind that door: a family, and a love no one's allowed to speak of.
She waits by the window every evening at the same hour, just in case he walks past. He never does anymore. Not since her father made it clear what would happen if he did.
Some streets in Bruges look like this, beautiful enough to hide anything. Even a heart that's been told no.

First there is nothing. Then there is something.
Marker sketch, abandoned mid-color. Sometimes the line is enough.

Just a Beer
Not every photo needs a plan. Sometimes it's just the beer in your hand, the light hitting the glass right, and thirty seconds later a decent edit and a caption.
No setup, no story, just a small proof that this moment happened. Cold glass, warm evening, nothing more to it than that.

Before They Wake
I like being the first one up. Not because I mind company, but because this hour belongs only to me. No one needs anything yet. No one's awake to want it.
I build the breakfast slowly; more than we need, just because I have the time to make it beautiful. The oranges, the bowl of fruit, the table set for people who don't know yet how much I love them.

Lost Things
The beach keeps what the rest of the world forgets. Every tide pulls something back to shore; a shell, a piece of driftwood, a memory I thought I'd let go of years ago.
I walk along the waterline and they surface without warning. A voice I haven't heard in a long time. A summer that ended before I was ready. Things I lost without noticing I was losing them.
Maybe that's what the beach is for. Not to keep the memories, but to let me visit them. Briefly. Without asking anything of me in return.

Tide-Made
At the beach, that's where I find it. It comes in with the waves. Inspiration. New ideas arrive in spring and take shape in summer. I carry them with me and work them out at my own pace, without pressure, without deadlines. Without judgment. First there is nothing, and then there is something. With my feet in the surf and my eyes on the little diamonds on the water's surface, I feel the energy returning to my body.
