ms. madeline camel blue

haven’t said to tumblr yet but i’ve loved and adopted furbys for years now , and im finally giving them more love and some new looks .. may post my others some time …*

Ms camel blue is a gorgeous favorite of mine. i’ve been utterly yearning for a blue furby, and i’m lucky enough to have adopted a white snowball furby in 2021/2022 i was able to dye !

some time between then and now i had attempted customizing her , i removed her fur and trip ‘split dying’ it black , by hanging half of it in a lukewarm tub of water and rit due . it did not work , leaving a faint grey on one side instead , which i powdered with black makeup them , and then painted her face and eyes black and white monochrome .

she stayed like that until last night when i decided i need a blue furby .

i first borrowed her fur , cleaning it in laundry detergent and fabric softener along with her ears . with some scrubbing i managed to get any makeup of extra applied off , but part of the fur did have a slightly darker stain .

after it dried i got my trusty dye pot and pointed some water . i used blue ritdyemore for synthetic dyes .

i was scared to boil my babes fur in water that needs to be that hot (since the fur is plastic and could just melt together), but with some research i trusted all would be well as long as i kept stirring and don’t have it boiling too often.

i ended up cooking the fur for 1 whole hour in the blue soup , stirring it the entire time and watching it . and everything was well ! there fur was healthy (considerably) and survived ! but , i ended up not loving the color . it held closer to a plum or purple…not blue .

i still had half a bottle of the dye .. but i feared for the safety of the fur… i eventually went for the risk and put the fur in the blue soup again , on a lower heat and for only 30 minutes .. and to my pleasure…. the fur survived wonderfully and cleaned and dryed to the perfect color !!!!!

i dryed her new fur and work on the face , spending some hours rubbing off old paint with acetone and doing my own work.. glitter , paint , nail polish , gems , lashes , eye glass …. and she came together . i pierced her ears , sewed them onto the body , and my dear was born .

i love her so dearly , i’ve been wanting a blue furby for too long and she’s perfect , im rather sad she’s nonfunctional but i love her nonetheless💙thanks for reading if you did
