This is a place where I can dump my thoughts out into the internet. Some stuff you're likely going to see a lot of is final fantasy 14 as that contents pretty evergreen.

Reposts of the odd meme, random thoughts about nothing in particular. And whatever game or movie or anything else that's taking my interest at the current moment (as of me writing this. It's Uma musume)

Okay, here we are , end of the storyline (seems theres one more case after this but shh) Im going to go on a real big ramble about my time with this game so Brace for impact. While i did enjoy this game. This is also without a doubt my least favorite Ace Attorney game. for numerous reasons, i'll start small for now not a fan of the 3d models, they started off feeling very flat and ended feeling very flat, and...idk if this is weird to say? but every non main character feels really flanderised now? which i know isnt possible because yknow they appeared IN this game but. hear me out on this it really really feels that now they're 3D , they gave everyone basically a "funny animation", that they then spam alllllll the time. mr Filch does that obnoxious bodycheck mugging animation Jinxie does the talisman slap Fullbright pulls out his Badge hugh does that glasses lift starbuck does that Sigh and much as i love her Aura always does that animaton that takes a second for her to lean on clonco. older games def did this as well but it feels longer and drawn out here. The loss of being able to inspect scenes is a Major point against this game. i wana be able to look at all the signs in 9 tales vale and the school festival and the podiums in the lecture hall and the signs and exhibits in the space museum and the paintings in kyubi manor and MY BOY THE GUARD IN THE DETENTION CENTRE. there was so much charm in those little inspects, its what made me really like Maya and Trucy. because they always had input on all these little things that were so endearing. investigations as a whole felt so much more...linear. you'd have a talky scene "right, now lets go to this location" and you'd get zooped there with no input "right, now we've done that we should go ask Shitton Fromabuht about his alibi" Whoosh and moved with no input. the back and forth nature , figuring out what i needed to present to who. investigating the right areas and finding the right things, thats what i loved about these sections. Its why i feel the same way about the game often taking evidence away from you. it should be on Me to workout that this bit of information isnt relevant to the case anymore and not think about it. speaking of cases. i should talk about those case 1. Solid case , not a fan of that "remove 2 lines" thing that was a little too abstract for me but fun case overall" Case 2: god i wish it didnt have that fukin opening cutscene showing me who did it , why was that there. God i hate filch stop doing that fuckass animation the case was fun even if a little...convoluted

Case 3: Much better , thank you for not showing me who did it. the characters were fun the crime was creative. the "Dark age of the law" was actually relevant to a case for once. Prof means was a fun antagonist.

Case 4: That was...yeah that really was a case. not the biiiigest fan because it ends without a resolution really ,i know thats to help set up for 5 but still.

Case 5: Oh i dont like you. i dont like you one bit. your Unique Characters , great Love you to bits Aura Blackquill. but , but but but WHY, the actual fuck, did you make this games version of GUMSHOE into the culbrit? fullbright? fullbright??? i can only speak for myself but thats just so unsatisfying , you set up characters related to both incidents past and prior , you set up a web of potential motives and contradictory actions if any one of them was the true culprit. an interesting web of mysteries past and present. AND YOU MAKE THE GUY BEHIND IT A GUY WHO WASNT EVEN INVOLVED???? A GUY WHOS 7 YEAR PRIOR IDENITITY WASNT EVEN MADE AWARE TO US??? not in any pictures or mentioned or anything? that guy who was registered to the Robots face database and obviously worked at the space centre along side everyone? nope not a mention. his motive? "oh yeah somebody told him to" eat shit bobby fulbright. also not a fan of how they handle apollo A) he's not the MC anymore and that makes me sad but B) they give him an edgy "im taking a leave of absence" cool dripped out jacket look. that he wears for...as far as i can tell. a day? maybe 2? Looking at this chronologically cases 2 and 3 are before the edge phase cases 4 and 1 are during and he's over it by 5 the game OPENS on him taking a leave of absense, and then we cut to before that for 2 entire cases, whats even the point im also not a fan of how the attention is divvied up here between Athena Apollo and Phoenix Case 1: Phoenix Case 2: Apollo Case 3: Athena Case 4: Apollo then Phoenix Case 5: Phoenix if you're going to make this game about Athena, and end with it being about Athena Just have us play as Athena, Athena Cykes Ace Attorney i ended up really not liking athena by the end of this because she's just..really...stupid. Shoulder throwing police officers and blurting out stupid shit in court to hurt the case. Growling and just being really wrong about things. and i think its partially because of that missing Inspect dialogue with the surroundings i feel this way because without it my only interactions with Athena was her railroading me between plot points and being wrong in court. but then for the 2nd game in the apollo justice trilogy it also doesn't really feature a lot of playing as Apollo , in fact his unique gimmick was actively turned off in the courtroom for this whole game and only used outside of the trials. Okay that was a lot of me Rambling about the bad let me ramble about the good and there is a lot of good. for the most part the mysteries were good, kept me guessing more or less right up until the end of the case , i LOVE Prosecutor Blackquill , Love my Brit larping as a samurai , He's got a fukin install for when he takes the case seriously , he's good at playing everyone with mindgames, He actually respects US as a prosecutor .The Bird. everything he does is peak and i love him , he was the best part of this game for me the psychology sections were also quite fun to work my way through, fun visuals and sounds and getting to break down the mindset of the characters in the cases was quite fun i just wish it came up a bit more. Music is still really good as ace attorney games always have had good music, Keep Pressing on is especially good.

This just feels...odd like "okay I guess we're stripping down the mystery to only the parts that are actually relevant. You're kinda steering me towards a certain outcome here game"

Also if case 3 also opens with showcasing who did it I'm going to die a little inside.

God, I cant stand that ending. for a few reasons one, i hate future past back and forthy shit, it feels disconnected and just breaks my immersion , because whats happening canoncially and what im doing as the player dont line up PHOENIX knows about the bracelets , knows about the slip saying "i did it" zac wrote, but narratively he's not able to say that he knows those things until i take actions AT A DIFFRENT POINT IN TIME, it just annoys me making apollo and trucey related? pointless giving apollo weird magician magic blood vision powers? pointless that weird sort of meta sort of not jury system where its revealed we've actually been watching the last trial as Lamirorir? pointless just. why? just, weird choices, in places too Brushel's tell not being a facial expression or thing he does with hands was frustrating the implication that Mr Shadi Enigmar , the man cool headed enough to stay off the radar for 7 years, this level headed magician, lost his shit and bottled a woman whom he set up part of his act with? ALSO ALSO this man who judges people based on how they play poker, who instantly said"shit man this Kristoph guy is fucked up" based on a single hand and fired him, actually was planning on cheating to beat Phoenix? this man who is willing to take the blame for a murder he didnt do (of which, he seemingly never learned the truth about and still thought his partner was responsible) just so his partner could carry on the magic, who put his own life in danger so his daughter he hadnt seen in 7 years just so he could exist again legally in order to give her the rights and acess to everything? THIS guy? attempted to cheat at poker , got mad it didnt work and bottled his "assistant" for lack of a better word. im sure if i think of anything else to say about this game i'll reblog this at some point
