Welcome to Side Quest, a blog dedicated to dumb posts, strange ideas, late night thoughts, and whatever else I feel like throwing at the dashboard. But enough about me- what can I do for you?

Quest Rules: Keep things legal, safe, and respectful. If I don't answer immediately, assume I'm somewhere fighting a side boss... or asleep.

Adventurers! Help grow the Side Quest tavern.

Mission: Tag @sidequest-official everywhere you can (reblogs, comments, other blogs, etc.) and bring in new travelers.

Whoever summons the most new sidequesters who interact gets a special custom reward (epic personalized quest + shoutout + surprise).

Your mission:

Boot up your computer and venture into the forgotten corners of your digital realm. Think of yourself as an explorer in an ancient ruined library of data.

Objectives:

Pick one of these locations to explore (or roll a dice / pick randomly):

Your Downloads folder

Old screenshots or camera roll

Browser bookmarks or history (go back 6+ months)

A random folder you haven’t opened in ages

Your Recycle Bin / Trash

Spend 4–5 minutes digging around like it’s a mysterious dungeon.

Find one artifact that surprises you, makes you laugh, or brings back a memory (a weird file, old project, forgotten note, random image, etc.)

Rename it like it’s a legendary quest item (e.g. “The Cursed Screenshot of Procrastination” or “The Lost Draft of Forgotten Ideas”)

Write a short message (1–3 sentences) meant for a stranger to find someday.

Your mission:

Leave it somewhere physical OR save it somewhere digital

Can I get a quest?

Set a timer for 1 minute.

Your mission:

In that minute, write down everything you can remember you’ve done today so far (no filtering, no order needed)

When the timer ends, pick one small moment from your list

Open a new tab and pick a completely random website or search something you normally wouldn’t (something harmless and safe ofc PLEASE).

Spend 2–3 minutes exploring it without a goal

Find one detail that stands out (word, image, fact, vibe, anything)

Copy or write down that detail and rename it like it’s a quest item or artifact

Go to a place you usually pass through without thinking. your room, a hallway, a window, outside, anywhere familiar.

For 2 minutes, act like you’ve never been there before.

Your mission:

Notice 3 details you normally ignore

Choose 1 thing and give it a name like it’s an item or NPC

For the next hour, treat every notification you get like it’s a royal messenger arriving at court.

React dramatically (even if only in your head), and if you respond to anyone, open with something overly formal like: “Ah, a message from the realm…”

Your mission is to listen to a song you haven't heard in at least a year.

No skipping. Let it play all the way through.

When you're done, return and tell me:

Did you still like it?

What memory did it bring back?

A theatre audition? Then your quest is one of confidence.

Objectives:

Before you leave, strike your most dramatic pose in the mirror and declare, "I have been cast in the role of a lifetime." Yes, out loud.

Give one genuine compliment to another person auditioning. The stage has room for everyone.

After your audition, reward yourself with a little treat, whether you think you nailed it or not. Completing the quest is showing up.

I grow larger the more you take from me.

Yet no matter how much I grow, I remain empty.
