I have an overwhelming amount of hey in my in box. I’m going to need to buy a pitchfork soon. For real.

When you are messaging a person you don’t know, like me, a really good place to start is with a greeting for sure, but also an opening. Tell me about yourself a little and what you like to be called maybe. Tell me how you found me if you’re messaging me cold. It could sound like “Hello, I think you’re the bees knees” or some shit “I’m” whatever you like to be called “and I just came here from twitter” or a reblog or whatever, “and I’m enjoying your” whatever the fuck you want to call this collection. Add in some flare if you want to be interesting, but “hey” and the like is not interesting. Asking me what’s up out of the blue is the same. Don’t do this if you want a response.
