A problem with a lot of folks' speculation about how Deltarune is going to end is that they're treating all meta brainfuck indie games as basically interchangeable and anticipating some sort of Void Stranger level ass-pull even though literally nothing about the game's narrative structure to date points in that direction.
My ultimate takeaway from Jax Amazing Digital Circus is that you have to believe it's possible to be loved. A lot of her behavior comes from being subjected to the belief that all a trans woman can be is a violent misogynist, a sexual abuser, a joke. She couldn't see any other path for her. She believed there wasn't a point to showing kindness or developing human kindness because that's all she'd be viewed as. So she cuts to the chase, she desolves into her archetype. She makes it her goal to errect giant flashing signs that say "I AM AN ABUSER AND UNWORTHY OF LOVE SO DON'T BOTHER" at the expense of everyone around her.
Pomni is ultimately what throws a wrench into this plan. To Jax's absolute shock, she sees everything, all the shit she's done, and still loves her anyway. Jax claims she's no longer deserving of love, that she hurt too many people, that she did this to her self, that it's too late to her. But Pomni's love isn't about whether Jax deserves it, it's about showing her that there's a point to showing others kindness. That being loved was always a possibility had she not done the things she did.
It's only upon realizing this that Jax starts to regret the things she's done, that she cries out that she doesn't want to go. It was always possible for people to love her if she didn't torment and push them away. There's a reason to atone for what she's done, to work to become a better person, instead of just killing herself and being done with it. But this version of Jax asphyxiates to the role she thought she couldn't escape from. She was less than one minute old.

MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING THIS
MANY SUCH CASES
Deltarune theorists should get not only more feminist but more youthlib. What do you mean you think this coming-of-age story about teenager girl and enbies is Actually[tm] about a grown man trying to change the fate of his world because he knows he's a video game character
I'm starting to subscribe to the theory that the prophecy is only like broad strokes and the specifics can be changed/it's already played out before and might again (possibly what happened to Dess)
it would tie in nicely to the themes of like writing your own story/ certain things in life being set in stone but you can still forge your own path etc
My main reason for thinking this is the way the Knight kidnaps people;
Whoever or whatever they are they're apparently able to subdue both Undine and Asgore in the light world, so why confront them in the dark world in the first place? And if Carol's involved, what would stop her from just calling those two to the shelter and pushing them in, if capturing them was all that mattered?
And why does Kris have to make the dark worlds? And why does it seem like they go out of their way to make sure Susie's involved in them? It's like they're following some kind of script or something.

It just occurred to me that Deltarune is a game where we have yet to learn either the antagonist's or the protagonist's motivations, but the main thing that theorists concern themselves with is the exact nature of the framing device
