THE BOX ITSELF is designed to resemble an ornate mirror, the body of it a translucent window with an iridescent film, revealing a dreamlike scene that reveals itself depending on the angle it is viewed ( e.g., if turned towards the left, the image is opaque/reflective, and if turned towards the right the cloudy, whimsical image is shown ). There are subtle patterns along the exterior, designed to look like shattered glass. The color scheme is a blend of blue/turquoise, pink/magenta/lilac, and silver on a white base. Holographic elements are present throughout. DURING THE UNBOXING fans will first find the desk calendar, each month featuring a photo of Seunghyun, with a message only a mad hatter could write that aligns with the dreamlike theme. The photobook follows with a full spread of his shoot, along with additional puzzle pages designed with similar dreamy scenes and holographic elements. There is also a handwritten message from Seunghyun towards the end thanking those who have supported him thus far and highlighting some of his goals for next year. THE POLAROID SET features photos taken from various pivotal moments throughout the year ( the LGC Family Concert, his Kiehl's brand event, his appearance during the LGC Retreat, etc. ). THE STICKER SHEET features a number of on theme images such as mirrors, white rabbits, warped clocks, stars, moons, swirling patterns, and tiny prisms in both matte and holographic finishes. THE PHOTOCARD SET features additional photos from the shoot not included in the enclosed photobook, including some from behind the scenes ( taken in the makeup chair, viewing his photos, making silly faces while the staff were preoccupied, etc. ). The back of the cards are a reflective metallic silver with his signature centered in white. These three elements will be enclosed within silver envelopes. Finally, THE CALENDAR POSTER, when lifted, reveals a recessed compartment in the box made of soft, velvety material containing an acrylic PRISM KEYCHAIN with a subtle engraved 'looking glass' motif at its center.
ON THE FIRST PAGE of the enclosed photobook, fans are greeted them with the riddle: The glass holds the key; let the light set it free. Look for where the prism shines. The inspiration for this theme is Lewis Carroll's 'Through the looking-glass and what Alice Found There,' to create a spin on the Alice in Wonderland aesthetic, so he deems an element like this fitting. SCATTERED THROUGHOUT the photobook are puzzle pages that at first could be mistaken for filler with abstract designs and swirling waves or faint mirror outlines. Using the principle of color differentiation ( think colorblind tests ), colored text is hidden within the designs of these pages, BARELY VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE. When fans hold the PRISM KEYCHAIN up to one of these puzzle pages, the light refraction effect filters the colors, making the hidden text or symbols visible. Using all three pages, the final message will be revealed: Through the looking glass, the message is revealed. ON THE FINAL PAGE, similar to that of the outer packaging, there is another large, ornate mirror design, when viewed through the prism reveals the final message: Dreams are closer than they seem.
