Oh Seunghyun, how could you not suspect anything when Seyoon asked you to hang out on such a special day?
"Come on, I already bought the tickets!" Seyoon whined, waving around his phone to show that indeed, money had been spent. If this was in the past, perhaps Seunghyun would not have cared, but lately, his friend gained more appreciation for money. At least Seyoon hoped so.
What movie were they seeing? A terribly stereotypical romance featuring a girl who wants to confess to some guy but is so wishy-washy about it that she spends over two and a half hours of screen time exploring her options. It was the type of movie that would put his dear Mushushu to sleep.
Ohoho, such fun Seyoon shall have today. He might get murdered after but it'll be worth it. Probably.
"Let's goooooooo. Please please?"
Seunghyun blinks once. Twice. And finally tips his head back with the weight of the deep sigh he'd been holding in since the moment Seyoon dragged him from the safety and comfort of his apartment. It's not often he has a clear schedule on a week day and he planned to take full advantage of it - until he showed up going on about some tickets. Seunghyun supposes his blanket fort of solitude can wait, but he's not happy about it.
"It better be good," he mutters flatly, allowing himself to be herded towards the movie theater. "Which one are we seeing? Something about superheroes and explosions and - " He spares a glance at one of the posters as they pass. Pastel. A bicycle. Cherry blossoms. Some actress looking wistfully off into the distance. His soul briefly exits his body.
At least he knows Seyoon wouldn't dare have him sit through something like that.
...Any who.
"We're seeing that new horror movie, aren't we? ...You're not going to scream and rattle the whole theater again are you?"

with three seasons of lgc style, sanghyun has gotten used to the general concept of the show. the commonality was fashion but this season in particular would reveal that sanghyunβs sense of fashion was usually more on the simplistic side (aside from the times when he has to dress for formal occasions and runways). hoping that the two of them could provide some entertaining commentary for the viewers, sanghyun reminded himself to have fun with the discussion even if he sometimes felt that he was boring.
as soon as he noticed the trend that they would talk about, sanghyun looked a bit surprised mostly because he never knew that there was an actual term for a fashion trend thatβ¦well, was right up his alley. βthe shoes look quite comfy and minimalisticβ¦but i believe that this trend focuses a lot on comfort.β he stated out loud and while one could say that his statement felt safe to say publicly, it was something that sanghyun noticed immediately when seeing the outfit. βseeing that this was the trend for autumn and winter, it would make sense that people would lean more towards what is comfortable during the colder seasons.β he reasoned as he slowly turned his head towards seunghyun.
βpersonally i like this and depending on the outfit, it can look elegant without being too showy about it. if the clothes are of good quality and sustainable, that is a bonus. how about you? would it get the stamp of approval?β
Seunghyun gives somewhat of a curt nod, careful to keep his tone neutral - pleasant, even - buying himself a few extra seconds to adjust his expression into something resembling approval. "The shoes do look... exceptionally comfortable. There's a relaxed elegance to the styling over all, I think. Like you're not trying too hard, but still put together." If by 'put together' you mean wrapped in a knit blanket and given permission to leave the house for bingo night in his opinion, but he decides against voicing it.
He leans forward a bit, gesturing toward the coat like it's a redeeming feature ( and to be fair, it kind of is - ). "The layering's smart for the season, and I appreciate the muted tones. Very.." Beige. Very watching paint dry. "It makes sense, really. Autumn and winter does tend to bring out that craving for comfort. I respect it." Doesn't mean he'd wear it... but respect it sure.
"I'll give it... half a stamp," ( The coat really did have some potential ). "For practicality and... for inspiring me to reassess my stance on sweater vests... Temporarily." He turns toward Sanghyun once more with a soft laugh. "On to the next?"

Luckily, for one Lee Hyunsoo, Seunghyunβs random bouts ofΒ pettinessΒ are rather short-lived ( though his aversion to inconvenient truths shared at even more inconvenient times lives on... And on, and on, and on... ). He skims the message with mild interest from where he reclines, the flicker of a fireplace his only entertainment, followed by a cup of something warm placed gingerly into his free hand. Quickly, he finds himselfΒ farΒ too preoccupied to pen a reply, but he does take it upon himself to have someone swing by the apartment to check for any unclaimed packages.
When he returns heβs pleased to find both placed neatly on the small kitchen table. Pleased, he would find, would be an understatement. With one of the green apple Chupa Chups pinched between his lips, he finally offers hisΒ friendΒ ( not that he would ever let Hyunsoo know that heβd grown so comfortable with the term... ) a tepid show of gratitude.

As per usual, Seunghyun's mind wanders.
For once, it's not out of boredom - though watching candles set is about as exciting as watching grass grow. He props his chin on his palm, feigning interest as their instructor drones on.
The workshop itself isn't bad, he'll give the staff that much. The hands on activities keep things from getting too unbearable, and there's a certain charm to creating something by hand. But it's Paris. And instead of indulging in the city's endless distractions, he's here waiting for wax to dry.
His gaze flickers toward the window, where golden afternoon light spills across Haussmannian rooftops, the muffled sounds of the city filtering through. He can practically hear the pages turning in that bookstore he'd been eyeing, and the clink of porcelain cups in the cafe just a block from the perfumery they would be spending their evening. His own itinerary, carefully curated between fittings and Vogue events sits untouched in his notes app, taunting him.
He sighs, glancing over at Jinseo from across their shared bench. "How's yours coming along?"

yujin wasn't much of a gamer, even if she wanted to explore that genre of hobbies. it just never got her excited the way art did but that didn't mean she wouldn't pick up a controller and try things out. her motto for the year was to try new things, and this particular game looked⦠interesting.
it was no animal crossing, that's for sure.
seeing that someone was already occupying another seat near the TV stand, yujin decided to join him as she readjusted her large hair bow. and plopped down in the plush chair. "mind if i join you? i need a small break from socializing so much." she gave the male a smile, eyes studying his features for a moment so she could register who exactly this man was.
"are youβ¦. seunghyun? sorry if not, that would be so messed up if i got your name wrong right to your face." round cheeks started to heat up at the realization that she spoke without thinking too much. "anyway, did you start playing before i got here? I've never touched a Mario game before, other than the racing game." which was ironic, since she was dressed as Princess Peach.
This has to be some sort of cruel and unusual punishment.
First the color neon green haunted him for a little over a year, and now this. A constant reminder of that horrid costume of his and that permanent marker that stained his upper lip for at least three days. All of that torment and what did it get him?
An hour in front of a TV and watching the same annoying character mock him from the promos posted around the room. He supposes he's thankful that it is a partnered activity. His internal drive to save face would be the only thing keeping him from rage quitting this gig entirely.
"That would be me." He flashes the idol a curt smile and gives a polite nod of his head. "Just getting started. I've never actually played this game myself..." Despite gaming being one of his close friend's favorite hobbies, he couldn't help but find the idea such a waste of time ( so says the same man that would easily pull an all-nighter to complete a Lego build ). "I think we have to choose our characters... Let me guess, you'll be playing as..." he trails off, although the answer is quite obvious.
"Toad?" Badum tss, and the crowd goes mild. Seunghyun would not attempt to make another joke for the rest of filming.

Alright, maybe⦠perhaps⦠Soo Kiyong was a tad too excited for his very first project as an official, website listed ( !! ) LGC Agency model. Ever since the meeting ended, he has not been able to stop grinning from ear to ear, scribbling things down in the notebook he carried with him everywhere when the thoughts come to him, daydreaming here and there. He had his idea perfectly mapped out by the time a week in rolled around. He would go for the watch, map out a plot sketch of the day in the life of an athlete or someone with an especially active lifestyle. There was no better way to incorporate his own strengths than with this idea.
Another point of excitement happened to be contained within the man he dragged along with him to the gym β a location the other model surely would never step foot in otherwise if not for Kiyong's insistence. ( And, of course, he asked for permission from the staff to film ahead of time. ) Seunghyun always had a discerning eye for what shots and poses would be the most appealing to the eye. He held the man's opinion in quite the high regard. One might even refer to it as a starry eyed admiration. In fact, he looks upon him with that very same expression when he moves in front of him β seemingly to line up what could be the next shot for some b-roll.
"What do you think of my idea?" he asks, settling his forearms on the handles of the elliptical, his chin resting on them next. His large eyes glance up at him with a playful glint within them, as they usually do. He purses his lips to fight back a smile. He should look cool and focused, shouldn't he? "Did you think of anything yet? I saw you thinking really, really hard the other day. That must mean that you've got something in mind! Anywayβ¦ whatever you come up with, I think it'll be really brilliant. Ohβ¦ Do you need help though!? Since you're helping meβ¦ I mean, I planned to help you, anyways, butβ"
The model makes a poor attempt at keeping up with Kiyong's ramblings, his focus mainly locked in on the camera's viewfinder. He can't find much issue with the location itself - Aside from his usual discontent with being in a place like this. One would assume with such a high volume of gym selfies every hour that more care would be placed on adequate lighting... He fiddles with the settings for a while longer, trying his best not to worry too much about it. Although, the various smells that wafted around him were quite worrying...
Had he thought of anything? Seunghyun purses his lips. He hadn't spent much thought power on coming up with an idea for his own vlog. Truth be told, he could hardly come up with a single thing for his own YouTube channel, let alone something ancillary. Not even inspired by the prospects of another brand deal, or the shiny tablet he'd been able to play around with ( surely, choosing an item would be enough to spark something, anything - ). He centers Kiyong in the frame, absentmindedly zooming in and out on the watch on his wrist. Maybe he hadn't been thinking hard enough. His thoughts as of late proving less than helpful...
He lowers the camera once more with a huff. Something just wasn't right⦠Maybe it was the camera itself? Something off with the lens? No, no, it seemed perfectly fine... Maybe it's just a matter of distraction. Overwhelm. It figures he'd feel it now that things were finally going somewhere - No, it was definitely the lighting. He takes a step back and returns to his feverish adjustments. Why wasn't anything working?! Maybe if he just turned the whole thing off -

β red velvet β an imposter! the lego pieces look exactly like the other two, thanks to the bakerβs clever technique ( covering a real lego with white chocolate ). and whatβs this on the inside? itβs a β¦ rolled up queen card that reads open me. how strange!
Seunghyun would like to make it known that he isn't really that big of a fan of sweets. Well, he isn't really a fan of anything related to celebrations, quite frankly - Cake, messy icing, or gameshows for that matter but for the sake of the national holiday ( i.e., the day of his birth ), he is willing to humor Rowon and whatever this is.
"Cute," he mutters under his breath, examining the chocolate cupcake with a sort of curious scrutiny. "But you've made this entirely too simple." Insert a long-winded and convoluted explanation of how Han Seunghyun Lego connoisseurβ’ spotted the difference between the candy legos and the imposter ( followed by an equally not-brief history of the invention of the lego and how it has grown to be such a popular toy to both children and disgruntled models alike ).
He flicks the chocolate coated piece off the top of the cupcake and takes a triumphant bite - Ew, ew, ew, what the hell is that?!
His eyes narrow, flicking his tongue a few times to free his taste buds from the remnants of laminated paper. He laughs. How funny.

One was fresh, and eleven were frozen. Every pizza was cut into a heart shape, yet each looked different from the previous. βI made them small because your stomach is only big enough to hold three walnuts at a time.β Sure enough, the pizzas were petite, most no more than the size of a CD. βThis is your emergency food stash! For when you are tired after work and starving. You know, now that you are too broke to order takeout.β Welcome to the life of peasantry, Seunghyun. βDonβt worry, I put vegetables on some of these. Itβs healthy, kind of.β Seyoon was incapable of making non-junk food, so this was his best attempt at something relatively nutritious.
βHappy birthday, Mushushu!β Seyoon grinned, holding up the cooked pizza heart. βI love you, muah muah!β And now he better put it back down because the melted cheese was about to slide right off. βLetβs go back to Canada together for a visit this year after earning some money.β He stuck a candle hazardously on top of his pizza offering. βIβll get grandma to make your favorite blueberry jam toast and we can chill in my old play tent. We can probably still fit in thereβ¦β
Seunghyun never found his birthdays all that exciting. Even less so now, considering his littleβ¦ predicament. ( Not that itβs anything worth reporting or remotely a big deal, no matter how many nights he bolts awake, drenched in sweat, only to double check his account balance and die a little bit on the inside - )
Moving on.
His current living arrangement didnβt leave much room for overthinking it - or any kind of personal space, really. He blinks slowly up at Seyoon as he close talks, chin perched on his palm and lips pressed into a flat line. The βthree walnutsβ comment was already pushing it and being broke? That was more of a mindsetΒ (Β I can still afford takeout you twerp, he thinks to himself ).
Despite his silent annoyance, the corners of his mouth twitch - just barely, a fleeting hint of a smile that vanishes almost as fast as it arrives, eyes drifting toward the sagging cheese. βIf you make a mess in here, youβre cleaning it.β And buying the supplies to do it quite frankly, the good cleansers were much pricier than he wouldβve expected.
He blows out the candle with a sharp puff of air, leaning in to inspect the tiny pizza before taking a bite of the crust. βAnd thereβs no way weβre both fitting in that thing nowβ¦β he snorts at the thought of that old pop up tent from when they were kids. βYouβll have to sleep outside. On the ground. Like the worm you are.β
Insults aside, there is still the faintest hint of a smile threatening to break through his scowl. So faint, Seyoon would have to be really paying attention to notice.Β
He really did love that blueberry jamβ¦
