As the season comes to the end we are savouring our last delights. We had office grown super sweet yellow tomatoes for a delicious lunch today.
It's nearly time to put the ShutterPatches back to sleep for Winter, we have had a great season and tried out lots of new exciting crop in lots more locations across London.
Thanks to anyone who has helped our green and verdant friends out by giving them a water or a careful prune.

We are pleased to announce that yesterday we received third place for Best Environmental Project as part of Camden in Bloom 2014.
Our project ShutterPatch offers communities a chance to sample and share local edible produce, grown vertically in urban areas. We recycle and repurpose materials from urban waste streams formulating every ShutterPatch from 95% reclaimed material.
These flexible allotments have brightened up and flourished in a wide range of urban spaces and environments.
Our team would like to thank all those at Project Dirt and Camden Council for the recognition they have given our project and for taking the time out to judge, review and reward us.
The Desktop ShutterPatch makes a return
Remember this little guy isn't edible! He does however give you a daily reminder about urban waste stream awareness and a prompt to visit your nearest resident full-scale ShutterPatch for some tasty edible goodies.
A flowering, abundant and plentiful ShutterPatch has greeted August. Our tomatoes are on the turn and the beans are ready to be picked.
It's nearly time to call in the harvest! Do you fancy some tasty, fragrant oregano for your sunshine dishes or some mint for your summer cocktails, please help yourself to what we have on offer at WC1X 9NG.

Looking after your plants
In order to attain a maximum yield of delicious crop, plant maintenance is essential! Pruning and pinching of long, gangly, non-fruiting branches is needed. It all makes sense when you think that they are consuming the nutrients and water that could be going into your food.
It is also great to see that the ShutterPatch is promoting inner-city biodiversity. Local bees are enjoying the pollen from our mint plant, promoting it's growth and expanding their colonies.

It is still too early for us to cast our vote, green pepper, green tomato doesn't quite have the same ring to it!

This can be one of the most exciting times of year for food growers, it's the time where you start to see the fruits of your labour.

Yesterday we brought sustainable flavour to Queen's Park, London.
The ShutterPatch is joining with the park to reconsider unused urban vertical spaces and facilitate fresh and fun community interaction. We are giving local organisations the opportunity to join with us in delivering good, green food to the community. Great fun was had by all and we look forward to keeping in touch with some of those enthusiastic and charming local residents.

Spring has arrived!!!
Our herbs are flowering and the empty pockets have been replenished.
We introduce some tasty newcomers to our list of crops at the Centre for Creative Collaboration, WC1X 9NG lemon balm, runner beans and new varieties of tomatoes.
The sunshine is blessing our vertical allotments, this means they are a little bit more thirsty than usual! Make sure if you have a chance to share a drink with the ShutterPatch.

Olson Kundig Architects install a mushroom farm inside a Seattle storefront that repurposes the city’s discarded coffee grounds as compost and teaches locals about urban agriculture.
On these cold damp days what else could we do with reclaimed urban materials? Attacking urban food sustainability with mushrooms, ShutterPatch are keen to support all endeavours to supply flavourful food to our people.
