Hello, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Shiori Kimura, Super High School Level Hypnotist. I look forward to us creating a safe learning environment together. Status: Alive Indie Roleplay Blog for Shiori Kimura Previously closed for Trials of Desperation. Status: Dead. Picture by Shslscreams, icon by ShslSpiders.
Takehiko took the ID of Shiori, not even bothering to look at it. He knew the answer already. It was all just protocol. Instead, he tried to control his breathing as he stared at her picture. He needed to calm down. There was nothing he could do about it now.
However, he did break the persona as he handed off the ID back to her. The host leaned in, trying to look as if he was about to whisper something sensual in her ear. What he said however was far from it.
âKimura-san⌠Please, tell me how much you spent.â he nearly pleaded. âI appreciate the sentimentality so much, but I canât have you wasting your money on helping me. I wouldnât, it doesnât feel rightâŚâ
He moved back just slightly, lingering inches from her face to keep up the host guise he had to maintain.
As much as she tried not to, she felt her cheeks flame a rosy red as Lucius pulled in close to her. This was all so weird, she wished she could have met him outside of his hosting position to have a moment, at least then he wouldn't have to worry about his act. And perhaps he would get in trouble for breaking it, but she needed to do her best to pass along what he asked. Hopefully, years of whispering with her sisters would help.
"It was only about twenty-one thousand yen. I-it's not that much in hindsight,"
She replied, pushing her hair back.
"Takahiko-san...please don't worry about it. I...that money I saved for college, back before I got into Hope's Peak. I probably don't even need it anymore, n-not now that I'm actually in Hope's Peak. All I have to do is graduate and every college in Japan will be begging to give me a full ride. B-besides, I can make that money back,"
Where exactly did Shiori get that money, though? Had she ever mentioned a job to Lucius? When did she have time to work, she never left her dorm room.Â

The host listened to her speak, and he knew that she was quite obviously going through an act as well. He was curious as to why she bothered with the act, and made sure to listen to what she said carefully. Some hidden meaning had to be present. He caught the lie about a brother, and the hosts smile faltered for just a moment. Once she finished, he finally began to speak.
"Shiori Kimura⌠what a pleasant name. It rolls off the tongue easily. Also, I apologize for the day spurring negative emotions of longing for family. I would be happy to spend the time we have together in friendly banter~." he replied, not bothering to look at the notebook. "In the meanwhile, may I see your ID so I may present you with a drink menu? If you happen to be underage, I have a limited selection of what I may offer you, Kimura-hime."
And in that short time was when he looked at the notebook. Reading through the pages, his expression remained unchanged. It was still that unemotional smile he held through every customer. A mask.
Despite Shiori being his second guest of the evening, that short amount of time she took up wouldnât change what was going to happen for the other seven hours he had to work tonight. Lucius knew this for certain. But no matter how upset he was for her visit, he knew that it was near impossible to get a private table on Valentineâs Day unless you coughed up a lot of cash.Â
Yet, despite the thoughtfulness of this Valentineâs gift, he was saddened. When money was involved, Lucius was never eager to accept it from anyone he knew personally. He felt horrible. Did he guilt trip Shiori into feeling obligated to save him from the nightlife? He shouldnât have broken down in front of her that day. His expression didnât change, but it was obvious that he was on the verge of tears.
â⌠How much did you spend to get this time? I was almost completely booked tonight." he scribbled on the notebook. â
Oh dear, oh gosh, oh no. She did catch the way he was acting, the way he refused to stop with the fake smile, the way he looked one the verge of tears. She had messed up, she shouldn't have done anything. She just should've stayed in her dorm and worried, but at least seeing him reminded her it wasn't all bad. Well, she tried to tell herself that as she riffled through her bag and gave him her ID, not that he didn't already know she was underage.
"Y-yes, of course,"
She nods. But to his question in regard to money, she shakes her head, giving him a nervous smile that seemed to say "don't worry about it" mixed with "i'm so sorry"
Rio accepted the money, placing it in an ornate looking register quickly and returning change for her. With a smile, the host stepped out once again from behind his podium.
"Occasionally, our hosts take small breaks to make sure they are suitable for their guests. If you would follow me to a table, he will be with you shortly~." he chimed, moving with fluid like motions towards the expensive looking tables towards the back of the room. It was away from the noise and clamor of the other hosts excitement for the night. After ushering Shiori to her table, Rio bowed once more and moved to the back room to find Lucius.
It took several minutes, but Takehiko finally emerged from the curtains and towards Shioriâs table. His hands were placed behind his back as he gripped his ring fiercely, but his expression was one of serenity. Rio stood with him as he was shown to Shiori.
"Ah, so this is my guest? She is beautiful!" Takehiko chimed, gracefully taking his seat in the booth and next to the girl. Turning his body at an angle towards her, the host continued his act even when Rio left near hearing range. "Ciao, bella. I donât believe we have met before. I certainly would remember a face such as yoursâŚ. I am Takehiko. What may I call you, darling?"
Call it a gift of someone planning to be a therapist, but Shiori instantly knew something was wrong. She must have made a mistake coming here, but her plan was still in play, she had to do her best if she could manage that, for Lucius.Â
But as he spoke she, herself, got a spike of nervousness. This was so uncomfortable for her, so unsettling. Forget that he was her friend, she hated having to be in a situation like this, especially knowing she payed for these words. It felt disgusting, in many ways, but she knew how to diffuse this bomb. She smiled as she looked down to her notebook.
"It's Shiori Kimura,"
She sad as she began scribbling.
"I, um, h-hope this isn't presumptuous sir, b-but, I'm...rather uninterested in the romantics. It's just that...um, th-this day, I couldn't bear to be alone, not when I used to celebrate with my family. A-and you remind me so much of my brother,"
Wait, Shiori never mentioned a brother. Lucius must have known that, considering how in-depth they discussed their siblings. She looked to him, a sincere smile present.
"M-might we spend some time just...having friendly conversation?"
But before he could respond, she handed him her notebook under the table, a note inscribed on it.
"Please don't be mad. I knew you were probably upset getting ready for this day. I payed for you to spend two hours with me. If you can bear being with me for two hours, think of it as a break from work.. If you don't want this, tap on the notebook twice and I can fake a family emergency."
And as an afterthought, she had scribbled on the bottom of the paper:
"Happy Valentine's Day Lucius-kun"
Â
With...call it her signature rabbit at the bottom.
Rio hummed, watching as Shiori pulled out the fifty thousand yen. Now certain that she was intent on requesting Takehiko for the evening, he seemed to take her a bit more seriously.Â
âAlright, my teal princess. Since you are requesting Takehiko-san on a day such as today, I cannot offer you to usual introductory price. I do apologize. You will be paying as a regular shimeisha if you wish to privately request him.âÂ
Moving behind a podium, Rio began to write down a series of numbers on a notepad.Â
"It is four thousand yen for a table fee, and seven thousand for the entrance fee. In addition to this fee, a private table with Takehiko-san is five thousand yen an hour tonight, not including the price of beverage. With this amount you possess, it is certainly possible for him to entertain you for the entire night. However, several other guests have requested public and private tables with him in advance. You may have two hours of private seating with him, but Iâm afraid he is unavailable for any longer than this. That is, unless you choose a public table with several other people."
The colorful host leaned onto the podiumâs surface, watching the girl curiously as he held out the final price.
"We do have several other hosts available almost completely tonight. They are certainly quite pleasant to be around. Are you certain you wish only for Takehiko?"
Despite everything, Shiori couldn't help but blush as the man implied that she may want to sit around with the other hosts. While Shiori knew his job was likely to upsell, she couldn't help but find it embarrassing to imagine herself fawning over all these boys. Just watching them touch the girls in the shop was making her embarrassed enough. This was not the environment she wanted to be in, but she wanted to surprise Lucius.
"N-no thank you. I'd...rather have a private seating for those two hours,"
And as difficult as it was, she unfolded the notes and handed them to him. It was just money, she didn't need it. She'd make more. Don't worry, Hope's Peak will take care of everything. Or so she hoped. But as she looked around, she noted that Lucius wasn't here.
Rio watched the girl stutter around with a vaguely amused expression. In his mind, he was certain she was another lonely girl looking for companionship on a day like this, so he thought nothing of it.
Keeping his composure, Rio flipped his hair to the side and chuckled. âOur top requested host, ne~? Takehiko-sanâs photo is practically plastered on every wall outside of our building. He does in fact work here.â he teased lightheartedly. âThe entire day, or just an hour or two? On a day like today, a host would either be shared by several guests for several hours, or would just spend a short amount of time with each. It is incredibly expensive to request him for more than that. Are you certain you would like to, my teal princess?â
Glancing to the side of him, he looked over at where Takehiko usually sat. Finding him absent was strange, but he made no comment for the time being. All he did was keep his focus on Shiori.
Wow, this was incredibly embarrassing. Shiori almost felt a need to flash her SHSL status at the host, almost wishing to play the "my IQ is higher than yours" card just for the embarrassment, but she would never dare do anything to mess around with Lucius' workspace, other than what she was already doing. She took a breath.
"I-I'd...like to spend as much private time with him as I can,"
She said, nervously. She reached into her purse and riffled around before pulling out five ten thousand yen notes. Holy heck, she was serious.

Lucius sat at his usual table, watching as people walked through the door with a bored expression. His hands played idly with a ring intended to distract him enough away from panic. However, that small little ring wouldnât do nearly enough to calm his nerves now that he saw Shiori walk though the door.
As soon as she noticed her, his eyes went wide with shock. No. Nooooo, no, no, no, no, what the fuck was she doing here?! He lept out of his seat, swirling around the other tables and into the back room. Lucius didnât want to use his persona around her. Not to mention he had to amuse at the very least one other person on a day like today. The last thing he wanted was a friend to have to see this. He felt sick to his stomach.
While Lu was hiding in the back, a different host waiting towards the front of the host club smiled at Shiori with a low and polite bow. The many pieces of jewelry he was adorned with jingled as he moved. âWelcome, princess. How are you faring this afternoon?â he asked coolly, returning to a comfortable stance in front of her. âIâm Rio DâArtagnan, one of the many hosts who are available for tonight. Is this your first night here at Suzushii Love? Or do you know which host you would like to accompany you?â
Of course Shiori hadn't noticed Lucius high-tailing it to the backroom, she was too nervous about this entire situation, worried that perhaps she may get Lucius in trouble for attempting to help. But when the man at the front welcomed her, she felt an immediate flush of red come to her cheeks. Princess?
"U-uh...y-yes sir, this is my f-first time, but ah..."
"Does Takehiko-san work here? O-or maybe I have the wrong...ah..."
She scooched her glasses up her nose, getting more uncomfortable by the second.
"I-if he works here, I'd...like to spend the day with him. I, uh, have th-the money for it..."
Did it even work like that? Holy heck, she was getting hot under the collar. She felt like she was asking to have  sex with her friend. Oh gosh, that was a bad thought. This was different right?
Lucius hesitated as she offered her hand. A million thoughts rushed through his mind. A fear of being mislead. A fear of being used. Looking up at her gentle expression, he knew she wouldnât do any of that to him. Yet the thoughts of other people remained.
Remaining silent, the host slowly extended his hand to grab onto hers. But before Lucius could, he recoiled it.
"⌠I-Iâm sorry Kimura-chan. I-I canât." he apologized, continuing to follow behind her regardless. "I need to calm down a b-bit first⌠I-Iâm justâŚ" The host couldnât find the right words to express the thoughts running through his mind. He could feel his heart rate becoming incredibly fast, and his breathing becoming more and more constricted as he spoke.
Some would expect Shiori to be upset upon hearing that Lucius was unable to take her hand, but those some people would be indefinitely wrong. Between the words he spoke to her, her expression refused to change, remaining as gentle, loving and caring as it always was.
"Takahiko-kun, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. Rather, I should apologize for invading your space, it is entirely my fault,"
She halted as she propped open the door to the kitchen. Huh, the kitchen? Well, if he wanted to keep following her, the door was literally open
Lucius nodded, visibly getting more and more shaken by the minute.
"P-Please, Kimura-chan. I-Iâm so sorry, I donât mean to be of trouble." he stammered, crossing his arms across his chest in an attempt to stop himself from shaking. "C-Can we go somewhere q-quieter?"
With a quick knock on the door, Lucius set the present for his good friend on the ground. He couldnât stick around for his reaction because he was going to be late for work. Why he didnât do this earlier? The world may never know. Poor Lucius.
Shiori swung open her door to find...nothing. Huh, had someone just ding dong ditched her? How inconsid-oh hey a present. Who gave this to her? Was it from her sisters? No, it's be sent to the office had that been the case. Was it from Sekitan? Well, the box wasn't burned and had a lack of dickbutts. Wow, actually it was wrapped extremely well. She closes the door and gets to opening it.
She's entirely speechless when she opens up the package. Inside is a brand new knitting kit to add to her existing skein of two colors, a notebook and...and a pocketwatch. Had...she told Lucius that her only pocketwatch was a gift from her sisters and she had left it with them when she left home? She clicked it open, and couldn't help but mutter a soft sob as she noticed the time. It had just struck twelve ten, the hour of miracles. She pressed the watch to her heart and sobbed gently, caressing it's smooth surface. She would never leave it behind, she'd have it always as a reminder of the friend she loves.

"Green tea. Not much of a drinker of the stuff. too..watered down usually. Not that I canât make it, just a bit too complicated for me get it to taste..decent. Hmm any other method Hun."Â
"O-oh, of course, I forgot most people actually have a dislike for the stuff. I can't really blame you, I myself prefer coffee in all honesty,"
"B-but I deal with headaches quite frequently, and I know enough about relaxation techniques to help without turning to medicine. If you can't stomach the taste of tea, try water, if at all possible. Th-though you mentioned a disdain for watered down drinks..."
"Um, a more physical way to help is to actually put a pencil beneath your teeth, just don't bite down on it too hard or grind your teeth on it. Doing this will release the tension built in your head. You can also work to improve your posture, stretch a bit and relax, and alternate between hot and cold compresses as you see fit. Other times it may help to seclude yourself in a dark room like a closet in order to avoid stimulation for a period of time."
"Actually, tea is a great remedy for headaches without the effects of medicine. Green tea is good for general headaches while chamomile works wonders for migraines. In addition, relaxation techniques can cure headaches. I know a few if you need them."

So for some reason I got super nostalgic of Shiori's murder and watching everyone mess around with trying to solve it and I realized that wow a lot of stuff went on with how she felt about everyone no one even got to see, some of it wasn't even revealed in the dead blog.Â
So I thought I'd put some relationship info on how Shiori felt about the cast of ToD. This contains spoilers for the deadblog, since we're in endgame and since I'm not in ToD anymore, I guess it's ok to mention them??? Yo mods, tell me otherwise if I'm wrong.
Eve Yukimura:Â Just like in our indie threads, Shiori had a lot of respect for Eve. It greatly helped that Eve never did anything to hurt anyone and was as prech as she could've been. Placing a vote for Eve during her trial was the hardest thing she's had to do in a while, but it was necessary for winning over Teddi and she kind of had to do that.
Nana Itomori: Shiori never had any kind of interaction with her roommate, but before she was murdered when she was so anxious she couldn't sleep, she was convinced Nana was going to kill her and slept with a needle to stab her just in case she tried any of that junk.Â
Hajiro Sayako:Â She never had any contact with him and didn't get the chance to form an opinion of him.
Goroshirou Mina:Â Dang, Shiori is super neutral about him. Well, more than anything she was frustrated he didn't die in chapter two cause she didn't get any dead peeps except for Hiruko. It was actually her vote to Goro that ended up doing a tie game, but when she was Despair-ori, she was actually super frustrated she did that cause she could've gotten Asa. She never really got to form any opinions of him after she gained +1 sanity.
Sekitan:Â FREAKING BEST FRIENDS FOREVER AMIRITE? Shiori was super torn up when he went cray-cray in the second trial and actually cried over him, begging him to stop. But once she went Despair!Mode, she was super fed up with him and just wanted him to die so she could manipulate him. After she got her sanity back, she couldn't even look at him again because of all the guilt she felt for wanting to murder him.
Chouko Kimura:Â Well mastermind stuff aside which is another story, she never really got to form any opinions on Chouko.
Sumi Yamazaki:Â She never had any contact with her and didn't get the chance to form an opinion of her.
Satoru Iwasaki:Â Well she never really got to manipulate him at all, yay for that. She mostly feels super guilty being around him and feels like she needs to make it up to him for what she said, but she doesn't hold him at all responsible for hating her.
Morita Taiki:Â She never had any contact with them and didn't get the chance to form an opinion of them.
Itami Kanjou:Â Oh frick everything, how did he not end up killing someone? She hated Itami so much when she was alive, which slipped into an eh when she died. If anyone read her journal, she actually had a hypnogogic hallucination of murdering him, and she totally would've followed up on that.
Petal Dyer:Â She never had any contact with her and didn't get the chance to form an opinion of her.Â
Moko: Ok, Despair-ori, Shiori, kind of on the edge-Shiori, they all hated Moko with every fiber of their being once she died. Had she ever gotten the chance to talk to the living, she would have FREAKING TOLD MOKO OFF first thing. She hated her for defending her murderer to the point of denying Shiori justice so they could save her, she was all up Teddi's butt, and she may or may not be super jealous of Moko for stealing her best buddy.
Kaede Igarashi:Â Shiori just thinks she's just someone who's there to react.
Keiko Akiko:Â uMMM, SORRY I WANTED YOU DEAD? Well in the first week, Shiori was sure that Keiko was the mastermind, but all her mastermind conspiracies kind of slipped under the rug when she died. More than anything, she used Keiko as the straw to break Hiruko's back. She felt super guilty about that.
Hiruko Akahina:Â Ok this is the big one. Shiori was pretty scared of Hiruko during the first week, and once she died she flat out hated her. However, as she began falling into despair, she more than anything wanted to exploit Hiruko's headstrong behavior for her own good in making herself look innocent. However, when she went back to normal mode, she felt the most guilt towards Hiruko because her actions affected her more than anyone. She really doesn't blame her for all the hate. But my headcannon was that eventually she and Hiruko would team up to combat Abasi and Teddi with their hope. Oh, me and Grace also had a thread planned out for Hiruko to blind Shiori by punching her in the glasses, but it took a back seat for when Hiruko had to grieve over Keiko being blinded.
Abasi Simela:Â If Despair-ori was ever able to feel guilt, it would have been when she executed Abasi. Well, first off she hated Abasi and screamed at him during her own trial to leave Teddi alone. However, she felt like when she got him on the dead blog, she could've used him and sure did try her best into making him think that it was all Teddi's fault that he died. However, when she got her sanity back and Abasi lost his, Shiori saw him more as an enemy to the class and more than anything just wanted to get him into therapy to fix him.
Yukito Takeuchi:Â Shiori really never got much of a chance to form opinions of him overall, when she was alive she never met him and when she died, she had bigger fish to fry. However, while in despair, she probably wanted Yukito to die because if anyone was going to find the mastermind, it would've been him. However, she later feels he's an ally of hers when she gets her hope back.
Takiji "Teddi" Tatsumi:Â Wow, how opinions can change. Well, Shiori at first liked Teddi most among the class, only second or third to Seki or Lucius, because instead of just being like "oh hey, dead girl whatever", he respected her death enough to close her eyes so in a sense, she could have some form of rest. This is what led to her hating Moko and Abasi so much, because they attacked him in belief that Teddi did it or that he wanted Shiori's death to have some justice to it. However, when Teddi sunk into despair, she saw him only as an enemy and had to threaten him with a vote towards Eve in her trial in order to get him to stop trying to mess with the class and actually attend some therapy with Shiori.
Kimi:Â Shiori's actually just neutral about how to view Kimi. She didn't really do anything wrong.
Lucius Honda:Â In the pregame, Shiori had a crush on Lucius believing them to be the equalizing force to her orderly life that could allow her to have some fun. But in the actual game, they were just good friends. Shiori only got to dance with them once, but she felt very close to Lucius and even refused to vote for them when they killed Petal. She never got to see them again, but thankfully they reunited in indie and it felt so good.
nOT TO MENTION IN INDIE SHE IS TOTALLY HIS ONEE-CHAN AND IT IS THE CUTEST THING.
Asa:Â In life, Shiori felt like Asa was one of her biggest allies, but as she slipped into her anxiety, she felt like Asa would end up being a murderer since they had access to a poison in the hair dye and a shovel. Yeah, the reason Asa almost died was because Shiori convinced Iwahara that they killed Hiruko. She really regretted changing her vote to Goro because she could've manipulated Asa in the deadblog.
Hasumi Kisaragi:Â Shiori never really was into fiction, but she knew who Hasumi was and held respect for her. She considered the two of them to be friends due to their fun in the cadavers, but that was pretty much gone when she died. The elephant stuffed animal Hasumi took was actually made by Shiori for her sisters, so yeah FREAKING DROP THE ELEPHANT HASOOM.Â
Ema Iwahara:Â Ok wow. WOW. Ok so Shiori considered herself and Ema to be really good friends and even investigation partners as soon as the game started, and the fact that Ema told Shiori that she considered the two of them friends, that was super important to Shiori. But when Ema danced with her, Shiori may or may not have gotten a smidgen lesbo for her. May or may not, but she totally did. When she learned that Ema was the one who had killed her, she was super bitter towards her because she used Shiori's friendship against her and had taken away a life with her sisters. However, she didn't want Ema to die when she did because she felt like she suffered enough when Monobear revealed her secret. I had hopes that when Shiori sunk into despair, her feelings for Ema would escalate to something more romantic from Stockholm Syndrome, because it was only in death that Shiori felt like she had purpose and Ema was the one that gave her that. That never followed through because Naomi left the group a little early. That's too bad. Naomi if you're reading this I totally miss you!
Yosu:Â Shiori never got the chance to interact with Yosu until she died but she felt like Yosu was the group's hope.
