Tumblr has longtime been a safe place for me to go and enjoy a multitude of things. From tasteful nudes, do downright raunchy ones. From beautifully gothic homes to faerie gardens. From recipes to downright abominations. A place where I can show my feminism strong and proud, a place where I can denounce nazis and all they stand for. A place for me to be me in all my twisted and unique glory.

But you’ve taken the steps to take this away from me and millions of other users. And for what reason? Because fucking Apple told you so? Because of money? Because that’s what this all boils down to right? Money.

“Female-presenting nipples” so my nipples aren’t okay, but my male counterparts are? I’m sorry, the 1950s are calling and they want you and your archaic views back. Next you’ll be telling us “female-presenting nipple” having individuals to go back to the kitchen where we belong.

So many of us grew up on tumblr. We started as minors and now we’re adults. And you are getting ready to alienate so much of your user base. Those that regularly post art, those who use the platform for business, those that use it for their own little guilty pleasure.

Tumblr was my home. Tumblr got me through a severely abusive relationship by finding a home in a very niche (but growing) community. Individuals who are attracted to and have a fetish for transformers. And this is my coming out once again, but this community is based on nsfw content (robot fuckers if you will), and this community gave me an escape when I was having the shit beat out of me physically and verbally. And to have this taken away because you want to suck Apples capitalist moneybags? Fuck. You.

But this applies to so many other communities. Furries. Monsters. Nature. I’ve seen it all, and it can all be quite beautiful and amazing. Even if I dont get it. You are taking away a home from us, and that is not okay.

I am disappointed on so many levels. This was a platform that was supposed to be based on equality. And you are also flagging and banning my lgbt+ community as well. Once again, they are being deleted and erased. And dont you DARE call it a bug in the system. I coded for years, that’s not a bug. That’s you sucking Apples moneybags again.

This has been a very upsetting and depressing experience for me and so many others. And I couldn’t be more distraught with what your decisions have come down to. Money over loyalty.

But. To everyone that I have made a connection with. I will be here as long as possible to collect as much info as possible for where others are moving to. And to those that I’ve already lost, I am sorry and I hope we find each other again. I will be on pillowfort. And patreon. And twitter. And artscape. And any other platform I can find or think of.
