It's a snow day here in Toronto and I was supposed to go to my mum's birthday party but it's been put off until tomorrow. I was already baking an apple pie but now we have to wait to eat it. But on the plus side, I'm just enjoying the snowfall, baking in my cozy kitchen and listening to best Christmas playlist ever.

My day started out getting a lecture from a TTC driver that I should get a transfer after I pay my fare rather than two stops into my transfer. The audacity of this fucking asshole instructing me on how I should most efficiently ride transit... I can't even... How about you shut the fuck up and just lift your fat fucking wrist and tear off that slip of paper before I fucking launch into a tirade about how your fucking shit buses can't ever follow a schedule or employ qualified drivers? If I ever see that fucker again, I will promptly rip the transfer up in front of his face and then lecture him on how he should have taken his shit BEFORE he started his shift instead of making people sit behind his stinky dump-filled ass.

Went to the new aquarium in Toronto yesterday. It was a zoo actually because of all the children crawling all over the place. I love children but I really doubted wanting to have any of my own after that visit. Just the sheer chaos and the ignorant parents flashing their cameras at the sealife in their tiny little tanks... I don't know. The whole thing felt wrong and while it was cool to see the jellyfish and seahorses and all the different kinds of fish and sharks, it was kind of a cruel experience overall and I don't think I'll ever go back, especially after watching Blackfish. We could only tolerate being in there for a little over an hour and by the time we left, there was a lineup of kids and parents out the door and down the stairs all the way to the sidewalk. Ugh.

For Halloween this year, we could think of no other tribute as fitting as honouring the late rock pioneer in pumpkin so here you have our Lou Reed jack-o'-lantern, which we took to the Junction Pumpkin Walk as well as the Sorauren Pumpkin Parade. You could say it was Lou's final tour to Toronto.

Yesterday was the first anniversary of buying our home. So YAH! I can't believe it was a year ago that we were sitting in that creepy kitchen signing papers and shitting our pants. Thanksgiving weekend is a prime time to go house-hunting because everyone else is distracted with the holiday or out of town. We haven't even taken a picture of ourselves in front of the house yet... but I thought I would doodle it. That much I can do.

Saw Depeche Mode at the Molson Amphitheatre on Sunday. It was the most incredible show I've been to in a long time. I just remember having such a good time singing Enjoy the Silence at the top of my lungs. The rain was falling lightly and every once in awhile you would glimpse the drops glistening in the stage lights... the excitement and energy were palpable. Waving my arms around in the air to Never Let Me Down Again was epic. I only wish I could sleep with Dave Gahan of today. What a sexy, sexy beast.
