The group is KISS. The label is Casablanca. And the ultimate payoff? A staggering $40 million, pure platinum… But there’s more to this than money-making machines and mass-produced music: there’s hard marketing, too. In the case of KISS, each member of the four-man group competes alone with his own solo album. And that’s unheard of in any business other than this.
