Shout Out, Stand Up

She/They, Pan, Anticensorship, Liberal/Democrat, & Pro-choice. A teacher once called me the r word in class and ranted about my disability -- which I had not disclosed to the class. I stood up and started listing my rights and citing the law. She told me to "Shut up and Sit Down." This blog is dedicated to her and all those like her in the hopes that they will hear, learn, and do better. Yes, I am Christian, but I am a liberal Christian. Love is love. Mercy is holy. Kindness is divine. Tolerance is the key to heaven and hatred is the path to hell. Christianity is a reason to be kind, a holy mission to support all those who need it without judgment, and never an excuse to hate anyone for any reason. I don't know how people got racism, sexism, homophobia, or ableism from the book about the Lord lending a hand to anyone who was discriminated against and outcast from their community. I can't change them but I can choose my own path -- and I choose to believe in a good, loving, protective, and fatherly god who adores all of his children and encourages of any kind action given by anyone to anyone.
