2017 Signing Off
When 2017 entered I was unsure how my year will go. I was unsure how to tackle all the adversities I am about to face in the future. An opportunity arise on going to an Open- house out of town about something I wanted to achieve. It made me inspired and motivated on the goals I wanted to reach in terms of academics. However, one thing I was sure about was that I was ready to seek adventures knowing that I’ll have one of the best summer vacations that awaits me. Sure enough, it happened.
Winter 2017 finals came and here comes all the school challenges but I was determined to finish off my semester on a positive note so I strived and pushed harder. 2 days after, swoosh I was ready to fly for my almost 4-month vacay. I was ready to wanderlust. I Started off my vacation to a new place I have never been before, Cebu. It was a new experience with a lot of guidance from local friends. The city was rich in history which was great but the white beach, however, was awesome! It seems like every single month I was in the Philippines I had a new destination to go which made my trip more amazing and made me appreciate the wonders it has to offer. My time in the Philippines made me realize how important it is to reconnect. Reconnect with nature, Reconnect with families, Reconnect with friends and Reconnect with people I haven’t talked to in person. I learned that throughout the years we have all become different people but definitely great people. We may have removed stereotypes of each other and learned new great things from one another.
* THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF MY SUMMER FUN AS WELL AS MY YEAR 2017 *
For the last quarter of my 2017 I had all the time to help me sink in that it may be my last fall undergrad academic year and YES, I’ve made it through it! Celebrating cheers and laughter with friends and families during the holiday.
At the end of this year, I learned to be grateful and accept that change is inevitable. I needed to let go of people who were once important in my life but now has different dispositions and accept that maybe not now but in the future, we’ll find our ways back to reconnect. Those friendships, relationships that were topsy turvy I just had to let it go. It was difficult but it was much needed. Despite all those, it was a learning experience that CHANGE is for the better.
However I must say, 2017 was indeed a great year for me
XOXO, Denise
Shoutout to the people I was grateful for
To my family: I hope on our next family vacay we’ll all be reunited and complete! I just love spending every single minute with you guys even in a very short span! Love you to bits and pieces! See you again soon!
To the troubled trio: We never really had the chance to bond as we grew up, even though we frequently saw each other. I feel that there was just this awkwardness between us but we have slowly changed that.As we mature we learned to open up ourselves. So thanks for days that we got in trouble and the days we didn’t. G ulit tayo pagbalik ko :D
To my RUH childhood friends: things haven’t changed since we were young. We may become adults now and barely have contact with one another but our friendship has still remained intact. So thank you for being the same!
To the night owl: thanks for the nights we had hang out. It made a difference in my trip. You gave me another perspective of nighttime and you gave me fun memories to remember! Always know that I’ll always care even from a distance.
To Istel: We have never been this close despite our ages being the closest in the family. We both learned to trust each other and open up to one another. Laging nadadaan sa G eh! haha! However, you’ve been there through my ups and downs this 2017 and I’m forever grateful to you for that! Alam mo yan I’ll always got your back no matter what happens and I’m just one text away!
