If only I had been born decades earlier, i could've been granted the privilege of knowing Anders while he was still a child. I'd love him with the unwavering devotion every child deserves, driven him to school every morning, and stood at the sidelines of every sports match to cheer his name louder than any other parent in the crowd. Sometimes i picture myself helping him with the smallest and most ordinary moments of life. Bathing him with gentle hands, trimming his nails, cutting his hair exactly as he liked it, making sure he was always warm, always fed, always safe. At the end of each day, I would kiss his forehead, tuck him beneath the blankets, and wish him goodnight! If only..if only..if only..
