.... And then there were three lovely Scottish Island seaside pots :-)
I know it's a wonky pot (another of those rescued from the reclaim!) I have been trying out some new glazes. I need to work on the green. These are the colours Orkney means to me. The combination is intended to conjure up a seascape with Orcadian farmland. Did I succeed?
I was learning how to run my own raku firings today ... but I found it truly terrifying! :O Anyway, I had some spare demo pots, so quickly slapped some raku glazes on. I was hoping for a little more colour rather than the metallic effects, as it was supposed to look a little like a landscape, but still, it's nice :-)
Hare-bowl :-) <3 Not perfect but I really like how it turned out!

Tattoed hare! This was one of quite a few quick demonstration-hares that ended up escaping the reclaim bucket after workshops.
A hare-y bowl I made last week, in bisque now and to be glazed this week.
Gone a bit OTT making this cooking pot, because it’s the first proper thing I’ve made in ages! :O Looking forward to thinking about how to glaze this once it’s been in the kiln! :-)
Here’s some photographs of my “A Little Bird Told Me!” workshop. The pots are awaiting their birdy lids :-) Lovely work, and lovely way to spend a Saturday, teaching people how to make nice things. The little wren visitor was made by @boatofbees
I teach pottery to children sometimes. Here are some of their things! :-)

Someone at pottery class made this awesome coiled vase with hares and foliage, and I absolutely love it. Since I started teaching ceramics I barely have time to make anything of my own, and I looked at this and thought ... now that’s the sort of thing I would be making. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Meet Haggis. I needle-felted him today :-)
Slip decorated platter with folk-art curlew motif, using underglaze and sgraffito techniques.
Chubby pots and chunky bowls from my throwing course :-) I loved it.

Recent stoneware creations. My favourites are the stoneware beakers with the lovely glaze combination.
Slab built mug with underglaze design inspired by Lisa Hooper’s puffin.
