a  sweet  summer  child  adopted  in  the  winter  of  their  first  year  on  earth.  all  liberty  has  ever  known  is  the  davies  residence.  as  the  baby  of  the  house  ,  her  entire  identity  has  become  being  the  baby.  protect  the  baby.  don’t  let  the  baby  stay  out  too  late.  now  nineteen,  liberty  is  ready  to  put  her  name  in  the  pavement  and  become  more  than  just  the  naïve,  sweet  little  girl  everyone  in  brightwood  knows  her  too  be.  which  won’t  be  too  difficult  with  a  masked,  serial  killer  running  around  the  town.  on  the  night  of  the  murder,  liberty  was  at  work  - - -  cherry  red  records  - - -  the  best  place  to  find  new  records  or  long  lost  vinyls  succumbing  to  the  age  of  cds.  getting  a  job  at  the  record  store  wasn’t  difficult,  thanks  to  her  older  sister  lenora  working  there  already,  and  it  was  their  first  step  of  becoming  an  adult.  watching  the  film  empire  records  more  than  enough  times  had  prepared  them  for  such  a  step,  and  it  ended  up  saving  her  life.  the  victims,  hannah  guidi  and  rachel  kim,  were  her  best  friends.  alongside  shiloh  namara,  who  survived.  and  that  night,  liberty  was  supposed  to  be  there.  an  early  galentine’s  slumber-party,  to  discuss  boys  and  drink  boxed  wine.  liberty  was  horrified  to  learn  that  her  manager  messed  up  her  schedule,  later  to  only  learn  of  the  real  horror  that  ended  up  occurring  that  night. now,  after  the  initial  murder,  liberty  can’t  stop  herself  from  crying.  just  tasting  the  sweetness  of  adulthood,  liberty  has  been  forced  back  into  a  little  child.  while  they  may  not  have  witnessed  the  events  as  their  friend  shiloh  has,  the  guilt  still  weighs  heavy.  the  fear  that  maybe  the  killer  will  come  after  her  next  giving  her  constant  nightmares. liberty  has  become  at  a  stand-still  of  becoming  the  person  she  dreams  of  being,  and  fearing  she  won’t  live  long  enough  to  make  it  come  true.

liberty  is  a  trained  ballerina  and  is  studying  dance  at  brightwood  university  !   but  after  the  murder  of  their  friends,  liberty  is  considering  dropping  out  as  it  brings  up  too  many  memories  with  rachel,  who  was  also  a  dancer. 

liberty  is  obsessed  with  empire  records  and  it  is  by  far  their  most  watched  movie.

elijah  crowe  is  the  love  of  liberty’s  life  even  if  she  doesn’t  fully  know  it  yet.  despite  working  with  his  brother,  they’re  triplets,  it’s  elijah  alone  that  brings  butterflies  into  the  pit  of  their  stomach.

knowing  that  they  should’ve  been  there  for  the  attack,  liberty  finds  it  difficult  to  visit  and  talk  with  their  close  friend.  the  fear  and  guilt  she  feels  just  at  the  knowledge  that  it  could’ve  been  her,  makes  her  feel  even  more  guilty  knowing  that  it  did  happen  to  shiloh.  it’s  silly  but  liberty  doesn’t  know  what  to  do  because  how  could  it  ever  go  back  to  the  way  it  was?  it  can’t.

co  workers  at  cherry  red  records  together,  it’s  a  miracle  if  anything  can  get  done.  from  impromptu  dancing,  liberty  breaking  down  in  tears,  or  liberty  getting  distracted  when  elijah  visits  his  brother  ---  nothing  seems  to  get  done  when  these  two  are  scheduled  together.
