The best thing about this hobby of mine is that I get to have great conversations with interesting people. I am not a journalist. I just love conversations that light me up, teach me something or take me out of my comfort zone. This podcast kind of blew me away. Dana Sachs is a writer, journalist and activist. While recording this podcast, I got to hear someone discuss the refugee crisis in Greece. When she discusses Greece and her work with www.humanity-now.org I saw such an amazing example of the best in humanity. A woman taking action, finding connection. This woman blew me away. The word shift has been coming up a lot for me. Or at least I keep noticing it. I'm not sure I understand the concept of a shift,but I kinda feel like we are all in the middle of something. The world seems to be angry. Maybe a shift is coming for us globally? In our hearts and soul we know what is true and right and maybe we can all begin to shift towards higher consciousness together instead of being angry and scared all the time. I am working on this. The relationship I have with myself is complicated. I like myself and might even love myself sometimes but my ego/subconscious/default still rages strong within me. "What is wrong with me" is a phrase that echoes in me from the moment I open my eyes to the moment I go to sleep. With my morning routine, gratitude practice and with meditation I can find the space to learn that that voice is wrong and does not serve me. I have a binder in my office that I call the book of hate. In it, you would find email after email and text after text sent to me over the years.  Any third party reading that binder would be like, "Wow, this person is an asshole." or "Wow, they really hate Marisol." But like most things in life, things are rarely black and white — but many, many shades of gray. Anytime I have to print out a communication and put in the book, I feel queasy.
