Serial killer Richard Ramirez had an ear for heavy metal music, including bands like AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, claiming the lyrics helped motivate him and his crimes. As he cruised the freeway, hunting for his next victim, he liked to listen to AC/DC’s ‘’Night Prowler’’, for Richard felt that Satan inspired the band to write it as an anthem for him. He also claimed Billy Idol’s ‘’Flesh for Fantasy’’ reflected his feelings. Furthermore, Richard stated he listened to heavy metal because it ‘’gave me a sense of well-being’’.
