i've been doing more tv interviews lately because i am an authority figure and things are happening in the area in which i work. i of course watch every one of them - fascinating how the media sausage gets made and i'm getting better at predicting which half-sentences they'll use from a 15 minute interview - and i was expecting to worry about my appearance.
but no - i am terrified and appalled by my own voice. is that what i sound like? how does anyone bear to converse with me??

we recently got a DVD player so we could check movies and shows out from the library because streaming is so deeply annoying and discovered that DVD players cost about $25 now!
the first movie i am watching on the new DVD player is the fast & the furious (obviously, the library has the whole series, here i fucking come) and in it they are stealing trucks filled with DVD players because they are the most valuable thing they can steal.
