A Force Designed to Defend

Muse? I don’t know her lol this time it doesn’t really have anything to do with what I’m feeling, but how Able I am to write. 

Disclaimer I’m totally fine, I’ve just contemplated very often just leaving the RP scene or deleting my blog because after my portfolio ended in February and with the added stress of not even making it in to that program, I just haven’t had a coherent thought since, well, last year. 2017. Not only is it that I just can’t think anymore, but this has severely impacted my creativity and drive to meet new people and like, start stuff. It’s dead, absolutely dead.

I bet you’re all tired of all the hiatus notices and long winding explanations for them and I’m real sorry, but I just feel like I owe all my new friends and those who wrote starters for me an explanation and I can only beg your forgiveness. Also please note that I’ll still be active on T..umblr and on D..iscord so just hit me up and ask for it if we’re mutuals and you wanna chat, but even that is hard for me nowadays. 

This might be the last thing on this blog, but hopefully it won’t be. Even if it is, it won’t be a goodbye, I’ll still be around. Thanks everyone.

ROMEO AND JULIET: warm golden lamplight.  worn shoes.  crumbling brick walls.  whispered poetry. embroidered satin.  cool, hazy mornings. tousled hair.  rosewater.  flushed cheeks.  distant orchestras. unfinished marble statues.  cobblestone streets.  loose threads.  ink smudged on parchment. tapping fingers. dust illuminated by sunlight.  poison vials.

HAMLET: shattered glass.  a cluster of fraying ribbons.  unanswered knocks on doors.  lingering dampness.  white noise.  inexplicable drafts.  migraines.  bleeding ears.  the taste of metal. reflected mirrors.  dry, cracked lips.  the sound of tearing paper.  fogged windows. memories of dreams. tarnished silver. protruding veins.

“When my little brother was born.” Cassie smiled. “I was twelve at the time. I remember the feeling of tripping over a garbage bin and skinning my knee as I ran through the streets after school. A neighbour told me, you see.

I was a sight. Imagine a little girl, covered in gravel and old newspapers and a knee all red with blood, in the middle of a pure white hospital room.” She laughed. “I got my blood all over my step mother’s sheets when I crawled up to meet him, little Louis.

“Oh,” Cassie blinked. “That’s a rather broad question isn’t it?”

“I had a beautiful life once,” she began “a life full of beautiful people and beautiful things. People who loved me.” The woman released a sigh and allowing a sad smile to creep upon her lips. 

“When I lost them, I thought I lost everything.” Her voice hardened. “I came here because I was a coward and because I was selfish. I lost my life. I lost my family.

“Your sideburns are nice,” Cassie laughed. “I always thought they looked a little silly in general, but somehow you make them work.” She hummed for a moment, frowning slightly as she first inspected the stubble on his jaw, then his legs.

The most obvious answer would be his height. 

Soldier was imposing, incredibly strong and incredibly tall. She had to crane her neck to look at him, and it was most certainly a fact that his height was a thing to marvel. 

Yes the obvious answer was his height. But Cassie was not an obvious woman.

“Now how could you possibly expect me to choose just one?” Cassie stepped up to her sweetheart, sighing as she placed her hands on his shoulders.

“Don’t know. Could be… your eye. Your height, your hands.” She looked him up and down, but stopped on his lips when he began to smile at her, and she found herself smiling with him. It was infectious, the emotions he wore on his sleeve and upon his lips; how there was a smile for every different occasion and one reserved just for her. 

This smile.

“I don’t have much to work with, you know.” Cassie raised and eyebrow and smiled, though not cruelly nor sarcastically. She raised a finger to her lip in thought, studying what was given and attempting to picture what could possibly be beneath the mask.
