i am the good boy

      Of course he is a good boy! But thank you, kind one. He smiles with warmth and sits by the side of yet another blessed dog-lover.

      The temptation to eat the treat right away teases him but he is a good boy. He is waiting patiently with eager eyes for the masked fellow to tell him it’s okay. But boy, does that treat smell good.

     Bork, bork!!!

     That he is, and he knows it to boot!

     Borf!

     Boofs back!

     He won’t go against the fact she looks a small bit intimidating. Perhaps it’s just the way she stands, but he’s not too sure of himself; count him a small piece apprehensive. Then again, by his experience so far, he’s not made it to the nicer side of town. He’s been running from place to place all day, he’s tired and a small bit afraid. It’s all he can do to sit down and fight the urge to run, giving off a small apprehensive whine in front of her.

     Does this human need a friend? He thinks it is safe to assume so. He seems almost sad, sitting alone as he is. So, the dog takes it upon himself to walk over and sit right in view of the human and give a curious, cursory head tilt. A small wag is added to show that he wishes to be friendly. Perhaps the human would enjoy the company!

     Success! Any attention is a win in his book, and pets make everything ten times better! He responds with his best smile and a wag of his tail, excited to have made what he now considers a new friend! When he makes sense of what he’s being asked, he imitates what he has seen many humans do before him, and shakes his head left to right to indicate he does not need anything in particular; he has received what he wants; a friend.

     Either way; he is doing his very best to hold the pose, it isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do but he knows for a fact humans like to see this! They reward the ability to do this; so do it he will!

     This one looks like they could use a laugh! So, it’s with that in mind, that he proceeds to stick his tongue out in a rather dramatic fashion. As dramatic as a dog can really manage, of course! Which does end up looking rather silly. It’s worth the try to see if he can get a laugh out of his newfound companion!

     Is this a friend? He has no reason to think to the contrary! A simple, small bark in greeting is given as he stares up at the human before him. Time to make a new friend! If the human wants to be friends of course! He’s a good boy, so if he is told to leave he will! But he hopes not. He likes making friends with humans! Humans are nice.

     Apprehensively does he approach her slowly, ears laying flat against his head as he does so. It’s a big, new, scary place. She is the kindest human he has met; she is not yelling or running around. He eases his way over to her and gives a little sniff before he lays down beside her, placing his head in her lap and once again letting out a small, scared whine. She seems willing to help him. He hopes she will protect him from all the scary new things out there that don’t seem to have liked him too much.

     Who are those? Maybe he met them when he was running; he is not sure. He opts to give a soft whine back to her and scooch his was forward a little bit so he is in better reach of her. A slow, cautionary wag is given of his tail as he raises his head a little bit more, tilting it as he looks at her. He decides she is a nice lady and he would like to stay near her for as long as he possibly can. She’s one of those humans that just feels kind. He decides that he likes her, opting to give a faster wag as the indication to his trust being now freely given to her.

     Pets! The only thing that is better than pets is food; but that’s not his concern at the moment. He’s not hungry. So pets are the best thing in the world currently and he is getting them! There isn’t a better feeling out there! And she is laughing! He made her happy! He is a very good boy! His tail begins to wag and a soft boof is his reply, attempting to move his head to try to lick her hand to show her his appreciation. Obviously he has to give back when humans are kind; and they seem to enjoy when he gives kisses, so that is the perfect course of action to take!

     Success! He has received pets! Contented, his tail begins to thump against the floor as he does his best upside-down smile. A soft, yet happy sounding bark is the response. A boof, if you would. He’s not entirely lost; simply traveling to meet new humans. Of course, he has to convey it through Dog, which he is yet to understand if a human understands!

     This human was silly! Just like him! A small bark is given in response, tail beginning to wag as he approaches, giving the gloved hand a quick sniff before ducking his head underneath it and raising his head with the mans hand on top of it, giving the man his best smile while his tail only proceeds to wag faster. Color him a very pleased boy!
