Sarpa kriya was based on the movements of snake and be sure to ‘whosh’ out the breath for the torso and arm lift, raising the legs high off the floor while the breath is held out and rocking on the abdominal wall like a rocking chair. This is an excellent abdominal massage, and especially good for the pancreas, or a clogged-up liver. In learning this Kriya, do not rock too many time until the abdominal muscles grntly stretch and ‘the guts’ shift around accordingly to accommodate the rocking. Collapse face prone in Una Mukha Asana, after each vigorous rocking, letting go of all tension as completely as possible. There is another variation of Sarpa Kriya. There one can roll from side to side on the abdominal wall. Do not flop over onto the side, but rock from side to side, gently massaging internal organs by doing so

Sleep and Relaxation
Sleep is nature’s natural relaxation. When we are tired and worn out, nature forces us to sleep so that the body has a chance to repair and replenish itself. Without sleep, we would keep the destructive side of metabolism at an all time high and eventually wear out the body much quicker than otherwise. Sleep produces a high anabolic cellular repair and replacement and as well, is healing to the emotions and the mind. Yet, it is possible to duplicate the relaxation and by meditation. What a boon to yoga enthusiasts that yoga offers an excellent way to heal and bless the body through yoga relaxation.
The Healing Breath
Pranic healing is a well-known form of healing in India. Vital energy, Prana, is transferred to the body part requiring healing from either the hands or the feet, or, by concentration upon the affected body part. When this healing technique is used upon another person it is termed “magnetic healing”.
To use this Bhastrika as a healing breath, a held in breath is employed after the rapid moving of the breath. When the required numbers of rounds have been completed, take in a deep, complete breath. Swallow the breath and hold the breath for as long as it is comfortable for you to do so. Now, let the breath out very slowly and with great control, all of the while mentally concentrating upon any body part requiring healing or rejuvenation. The whole cycle of the breath can be repeated up to three times at a session.

Form the foot-lock as is done in Padmasana (Lotus Pose). Take your hands to the back and catch hold of the right wrist with the left hand. Bend forward slowly so as to touch the ground with the forehead. Maintain the posture for some time and then return to the erect sitting posture. Repeat this conveniently by changing the foot-lock and altering the grip of the hands.
Yoga Mudra: Stages for Practice
Sitting on the sublime summits of meditational relegation, Patanjali, the supreme master and authority in yoga, enunciates in terse aphorisms what is to be learnt and practiced by those aspiring after higher life of the spirit, and attain absolute purity which in god of his total 195 aphorisms the first 51 aphorisms deal with sadhana or spiritual discipline and 55 deal with Samadhi or ecstatic union with god and the rest 56 deal with spiritual power’s of yoga. The purpose of yogie, activity is for attenuating the pain-bearing obstruction and for reaching ecstatic union with self. We intend to concentrate on yoga as a mystical experience. But before doing so some general notions on yoga may be helpful.
Meaning of the word Yoga
The term yoga is derived from the sanskrit root, Yug-yog. It means to yoke, to unite and to link up. It has also correspondence with the latin root jungo-junxi which in a modified form has changed into the Anglo-saxon word yoke as in yoking of oxen to the plough. In the same manner, through a process of spiritual discipline of mind, heart, body and various faculties and powers of man, he is enabled to get reunited with god, the supreme.
As far as I understood yoga is very useful in our day to day life. Since in the traditional Christian view also all men are having body and soul, it is useful that to take yoga practice by which we can acquire perfect control of the soul or the higher element over body and mind. Yoga is a valid means of god-realization. It also helps to control human behavior yoga in its Indian form or details at the same time need not be looked at as the only means of attaining these goals. It is at least interesting to see how more people are being attracted to the yoga practices. All the experiences in the contemplation are always personal. Through the various stages of contemplation we can know the real nature of ourselves and we can attain yoga-realization too. Actually, we are not in contemplating but we are contemplating

The effects of voluntary high frequency breathing (HFB) such as Bhastrika and Kapalbhati, were evaluated in relation to gas exchange and lung mechanics. Three healthy male volunteers were provided by the Goswami Institute of Yoga in Stockholm, all the subjects having been trained in these breathing exercises for several years. In this school, bhastrika was taught as a mainly thoracic rapid breathing, keeping the abdomen still and slightly contracted. Trained subjects were encouraged to increase breathing frequency to 200 – 260 cycles/min., and then keep up this frequency uninterruptedly for 15 – 30 min. Kapalbhati was taught as a rapid breathing, now keeping the thorax still, and forcibly contracting the abdominal wall around the navel, expelling air quickly. Also in this HFB – type, advanced students were advised to develop similar frequencies (above 200 cycle/min.) and maintain it uninterruptedly for 15-30 min.

Introduction:
Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death in the developed countries. Diabetes mellitus is a common in India as in other parts of the world. It is known to mankind from time immemorial. The Indian physician, sushruta (about 500 A.D) described the disease as “Madhumeha” (passing honey urine) with symptoms of thirst, foul breath and voracious appetite. It is also described as a disease of abnormal carbohydrate metabolism due to a disturbance in the relationship between glucose in the blood and insulin. It is characterized by high blood sugar levels (normal 80 to 120 mg per cent) and excretions of sugar in urine, and is associated with a fair number of complications – vascular, renal, neurological and many others.
An effective method that can be applied to reduction of muscle tension resulting from emotional sources is yoga, an ancient Indian system of health that lays stress on bodily and mental poise and is designed to produce equanimity of spirit that is beneficial to the whole nervous system. Taking into consideration the above background, the specific problem taken up for this investigation were,

Yoga for Better Health
Yoga is an ancient scientific system which brings harmony in body and mind. It has been developed by Indian sages for the spiritual advancement of an individual. It tackles all the aspects of human personality.
It is a very ration and scientific method by which a state of equilibrium in mind and body is obtained. But it is certainly not a miraculous power, or mere physical exercises as commonly understood.
Keeping aside its spiritual side, Yoga has now been applied as a routine practice for the physical and mental fitness. For this purpose generally certain Asanas(postures), Pranayamas (controlled breathing patterns),Shuddhi kriyas (cleansing processes), and Mudras (special Psycho-physiological gestures) are adopted.
Yoga can be practiced in groups or individually. They are more sedative in nature. In yogic practices, the emphasis is given on the nerve culture. In other exercises more stress is given for muscular development.
In other exercises the muscles are constantly contracted or stretched under tension. But in asanas muscles remain relaxed to a great extent. In other exercises there is more energy expenditure, but in asanas due to less muscular exertion energy expenditure is minimum and even sometimes remains the same or reduced as compared to the normal resting condition.
Other exercises give rise to asymmetrical development of body which reflects on personality and behavior. Inasanas on the other hand symmetry of the body is maintained. This helps to integrate and balance the personality. Exercises cannot be performed in old age, but one can practice the yogic practices in quite old age.
Asanas take care of vital organs. Blood is diverted to the internal organs while in muscular exercises blood is thrown to the periphery.
