Warnings: profanity and sexual content, slow burning angst, but overall fluff!
A/n: thank you so much for the constant support of my writing! I promise I’m trying to pump out one chapter/ part a day but If I don’t please be patient!
Chris woke up with a excruciating headache. Not concerned were Ana had snuck off to, he poured himself a cup of coffe. Sulking on the edge of his counter.
Alex’s words playing through his head like a radio.
“Get out! I hate you so much!”
Chris didn’t know what pained him worse. Your words or how he made you cry.
All night he tossed and turned trying to reason on why he would ever explode on his former Bestfriend. Coming up empty, each, time.
“Fuck.” Chris shouted to himself
He had no one to be upset with but himself.
He wondered how she was holding up, how she was feeling.
Another wave of regret surged his body when he remembered more of your words.
Fuck was it back? Chris thought
He needed to talk to someone. This fight had been weighing on his mind and heart heavy.
The only person he could think about was Carly. Truthfully it was the last place he wanted to be, what if he would run into her. It was the end of the summer and teachers were planning and redecorating. He was sure Alex would be doing the same.
Chris let out a heavy sigh preparing himself for the conversation ahead.
“Alex, the doctor will see you know.” The nurse said.
Alex immediately looked up from the magazine she was reading, occupying her time.
“Yes.” Alex says grabbing her purse, heels clicking down the white bland hall as she follows the nurse to an empty room.
“He will be with you shortly.” The nurse told.
Alex sat upon the huge table top tapping her thighs. Nervous to see her results, nervous to hear what she fears the most.
The heavy door swings open pulling Alex from her dawning thoughts. “Good morning Alex.” Dr. Washington spoke shaking her hand
“Good morning.” Alex croaks anxiety taking over her
“So.” Dr. Washington speaks rolling towards her, chart in hand. “We ran blood test, multiple times. Alex it’s not back, you’re still cancer free.”
Alex let a sigh of relief escape her mouth, feeling her body almost instantly stop shaking.
“Are you sure, should I get a second opinion?” Alex panics
“I’m positive. The only opinion I think you should get is one from the cancer survivor group I recommend each time we meet.”
Alex sighs rolling her eyes. She knows it could be beneficial for her. Talking to other survivors, she usually just talked to her journal or into the air not wanting to bidrden others.
“I’m scared.” Alex admits
“Don’t be, you’re one of the strongest patients I’ve ever had. You can do this, it’s always there.” He tells
“Maybe one day.” Alex says walking out of the door.
“Chris.” Carly calls waving him over to where she stood in the doorway of the printing room.
Chris jogged over to his sister, embracing her in hug. “Hey Carly now are you?” He asks kissing her forehead
“Good, and you?” Carly speaks eyebrow raised at her older brother.
Chris breaths wiping his face with his palm. “You know.”
“Yep.” Carly says popping the ‘p’
“How?” Chris whisper shouts
“Alex and I spoke. She’s not happy Chris. She thinks she’s sick again, and she thinks you hate her.”
Chris sighs. “I know she told me.”
“And you blew her off.” Carly sasses
“Heat of the moment.” Chris shook his head justifying his vile behavior.
“I’m just curious. How did you too go from seemingly looking like a newlywed couple two months ago, to know fighting like an old couple.” Carly quips
“I don’t know. The whole thing with Ana, and Alex. She had feelings for me— and I don’t know.” Chris sigh leaning against one of the printers.
“I think the feelings mutal. I think you love her. I think you’re scared and want something easy because you know Al isn’t easy. I think you’re being a selfish asshole too, keep breaking that sweet girls heart and I’ll tell mom and you know how much she loves Alex.” Carly warns reading into Chris
Chris takes in a long breath. Reflecting on his sisters words.
Part of him knew she was right. Truthfully Chris has always thought you were stunning, there was no denying that. But he buried his feelings for you so deep that sometimes he forgot he even had them. And then when he met Ana that was even more of a distraction away from his feelings for you.
He was scared to love you. Initially Chris was intrigued ready to try you on. But when he found out you were sick, he was afraid. Afraid that if he fell in love with you and you died. How broken he’d be, so he sheltered his feelings.
“You know.” Carly begins breaking him from his thoughts. ‘She hasn’t been here decorating, or making plans either, usually she on top of it. Haven’t seen her in three days.”
Chris’s ear were burning hearing that. Something was definitely wrong. As much as he wanted to find out he knew how upset you were with him. Timing wasn’t on his side.
“She hates me.” Chris sighs
“Chris you can’t blame anyone but yourself. The way you behaved, I’ve never seen you like that. You need to apologize, and do it soon.” Carly told
Chris nodded, taking in his sisters advice. As he fiddled with his fingers.
“Yeah.” Chris sighed popping his baseball cap on hugging his sister before leaving her classroom
Walk through the hallway he passed her room. Carly was right. It was dark and empty, not like Alex. Chris was use to running into bright airy room, being able to breath from the plants and homy decor.
He missed her, and he need to apologize, quick.
I walked up the stairs struggling to hold the many bags of decorations that crowded my arms.
“Damn it.” I whispered watching another piece of decoration fall from my hands
“Need some help?” Chris coughed staring at Alex from the other side of the railing
“I was just leaving but I can help you if you want.” Chris assures
My heart was racing faster than I’d even felt it so before. I was struggling, but not enough to want help from him.
Did he think I was that easy to just forgive him. Off everything he said and done to me.
“No it’s okay. I’ll get Jeremy or Carly to help me.” I annouces
“Are you sure, it’s really no-.”
“I said I’ve got it!” I snapped
Throwing my head back I sniffle up any tears that tried to come forward. I didn’t mean to shout but he deserved it.
Chris stares at me for moment in disbelief. I never yell at him. “Have a nice day, Alex.”
I watch as he jogged down the steps. Unlocking his luxury vehicle and speeding away.
Alex knew she had hurt his feelings. Chris was a sensitive guy. Especially when he knew he was in the wrong.
Alex shook it off though. Finishing her voyage to her room to start the week long redecoration process.
Getting home, I threw my keys onto the counter. Sliding my shoes off and practically running for a glass of liquor.
I took of my baseball cap running my fingers through my hair feeling the warm substance coat my throat. I wasn’t happy about my interaction with Alex. But like Carly said the only person I could blame was myself.
Maybe I’ll apologize tonight or tomorrow, make her some vegan Mac and cheese with the crust she liked.
Poor my heart out—Ana,fuck.
“Chris babe.” Ana cooed slipping around the corner in silk robe clearly wearing nothing underneath.
Chris turned around to face her. Impressed with the sight of her nipples pointing through robe and her hair messy but flowing onto her shoulders
“Have a bad day papí?” She whispered into my ear.
“Tell me about it.” Ana continues whispering sudectivly in his ear massaging his tense and broad shoulders
“I saw Alex.” Chris sighed sipping on his drink as Ana applied less pressure hearing that name.
“Did she say anything?” Ana remarked
“No. Ana, I thinks she’s really pissed at me. I don’t like it.”
Ana rolled her eyes, cupping his cheeks smashing her lips onto his. “Who cares.” She moaned
Chris fell into the Chris pulling her now naked body closer to his.
“I do.” He said pulling from the kiss.
Ana scoffed a bit, placing sucking kissed down his neck, feeling his crotch harden.
“Mhm.’ He moaned. “Ana what did you say happened in the bathroom again?”
Ana sighed pulling away from his neck. “I told you she attacked me. She called me a whore, a bitch, said I was using you, and called me a white mans whore. Saying I’m nothing without you.”
Ana reaches up to kiss Chris, but he pulls back. “That’s not what you told me the first time.” He scolds
“Yes it is.” Ana laughs nervously
“No, unless you left details out.” Chris moved bag raising his voice
“Uh! Who cares if I mixed up the fucking story! Wrong is wrong!” Ana shouts putting her robe back on
“I care! Because of you, I went off on my best friend and hurt her, pushed her aside every time for you !” He shouts fuming now.
“Don’t blame this on me Chris. It’s not my fault your easily minipulated.” Ana scoffs laughing a bit.
“What did you just say?” Chris growled low walking toward her.
“You wanna know the truth. Alex was right, I was and am using you. I really thought this could work and it’s painful to see it isn’t, as much as I tried to steer you away from her I just couldn’t. You’re both pathetic so maybe it’s meant to be.”
Chris eyes went wide, feeling his heart shatter. His head started to spin here was now way the woman he loved said that to him.
“Don’t worry I’ll be out by tomorrow, my real boyfriend Jordan is coming to get my things.” She continued walking away.
“You’re fucking lying!” Chris shouts
“No papí, I’m not. Thanks for the feee promo though.” She winks
Chris was boiling. “If you think you’re gonna sleep I’m my fahking bed for one more night your out of you damn mind! I want you out now!”Chris boomed
Ana turned around smirking at his fury, she found it amusing.
“Fine. I’ll have Jordan grab me. Need a real fuck tonight, not a rabbit.” Ana barked
Chris grabbed Ana’s wrist tugging on her. “I can’t believe I wasted all these months on you! You’re nothing but a fahking liar and user and if you don’t think I’m going to every news article about this shit your wrong ass hell! If I’m pathetic I don’t know what word there is to describe you, and you might wanna get Jordan in here tonight because tomorrow you’re close with be in the trash can.” Chris shouted slamming the door in her face.
“Fuck!” Chris shouted squeezing the life out of his glas watching it shatter in his hands.
He was behind pissed off he could have. Thank god for restraint.
Chris surged through his house throwing things down flipping couches. He was frustrated.
How could he allow himself to get played, used even.
Chris sipped slow seething over the vile words his ex girlfriend had just spat at him.
Chris nurses the whole bottle feeling a familiar feeling of intoxication take over him.
Finally he pulls himself up. Stumbling to his car.
Barley awake he drives into the night.
I sat on my coach catching up on an episode of ‘insecure .’
Fitting for how I was feeling. Shaking my head I walk toward my cabinet, taking my prescribed medication for the evening and a Tylenol for the headache Chris had given me.
I didn’t hate Chris, I could never. I was just frustrated with him.
He hurt my feelings and broke my heart and at this moment I wanted nothing to do with him.
Just then my doorbell rang. Slowy I walked over.
She watched the Boston man draped across her front door. Red substance leaking from his palm.
The smell of his husky cologne mixed with the heat of whiskey intoxicates Alex as Chris steps closer closing the gap between the pair.
The moonlight sleeps through her living room illuminating his pale skin with a silky glow. “She cheated on me.” He mumbles sniffling
“What?” Alex gasped tightening her robe.
“She’s, she’s a liar. I’m sorry lex.” He slurs
She reaches out toward him wrapping her frail arms around his broad shoulders, holding him steady. “Chris you’re drunk let me help you.”
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for everything. I love you.” He mumbles while she laces him under her thick comforter.
Alex releases a drawn out sigh in an attempt to block out Chris’s drunken statement.
Immediately Chris sinks asleep allowing Alex to slip out of her bedroom, needing to clear her mind.
She walks out onto her living room balcony, pushing open the small bay doors allowing the chilly Boston night air to slip past her body.
The man she loved for so long was now sleeping in her bed venting to her about his recheded ex-girlfriend.
It was a lot to take in, but one thing was for sure she still didn’t feel good enough.
A/n: Chile I have no words.
This was the moment y’all have been waiting for though. Chris finally revealing his feelings it a lot.
Shoutout to Ana for being a real bitch and not lying anymore 😑😒
And poor Alex our girls been through a lot. The last thing she wanted was for Chris to show up at her door late, and drunk.
