okok u said to ask here sooooo
lost boys musical Michael x reader x David where Michael and reader are already a couple when they move to Santa Carla: where they will discover that David is both of their mates :P
any kind of trope is fine! thinking maybe we get a bit of a flirtier David than normal, more nervous mike, and a reader that isn't overwhelmingly sensitive/crying all the time!
Author's Note: yes yes yess! I love this idea so freaking much!
Ali!David x gn!reader x LJ!Michael Emerson
đ©žin which David is both Michael and Reader's mate. Michael and Reader are already in a established relationship.
The cliffs above Santa Carla were quieter than the boardwalkâquiet in the way that made the hunger feel louder.
You walked just behind David, close enough to feel the faint pull of him without him even looking back. Michael stayed at your side like he always did when he was trying not to spiral into his own headâshoulder slightly tense, jaw working like he had something to say and couldnât decide if it was worth the risk.
The deer still grazed ahead, unaware.
Michael broke first. âThis feels wrong.â
David didnât turn. âEverything we are feels wrong to you.â
âThatâs not what Iââ Michael exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. âWe used to be people. Weâre still⊠us. Weâre justâthis now.â
âVampires,â David supplied lazily. âSay it like it doesnât itch in your mouth.â
Michael shot him a look. âYou donât get it.â
David finally stopped walking.
That alone changed the air.
He turned, slowly, like he had all the time in the worldâand maybe he did. His gaze landed on Michael first, then shifted to you, softer in a way he rarely let anyone else see.
âI get more than you think,â David said. âI just donât bleed about it in public.â
Then he stepped closer to Michaelânot crowding him, but close enough that Michael had to tilt his head up slightly to keep eye contact.
âYou think I wasnât turned the same way?â Davidâs voice dropped a little. âThrown into something I didnât ask for. Learning what I was by accident instead of choice.â
Michaelâs expression flickered. âYou never talk about it.â
âThatâs because it doesnât change anything.â A faint, humorless smile. âWe are what we are.â
You shifted slightly at that, and Davidâs attention slid to you immediately, like a magnet snapping into place.
âBut,â he added, voice softening just for you, âwhat we do with itâthat part matters.â
The deer lifted its head.
You felt it thenâthe familiar tightening in your chest, the instinct pulling forward like a current.
And then Michaelâs hand brushed yours.
Not grabbing. Not stopping. Just there.
David watched that small contact with something unreadable in his expression before he stepped aside and gestured loosely toward the clearing.
âGo on, then,â he said.
Michael blinked. âYouâre not going toâhover?â
David huffed a quiet laugh. âIâm always hovering. Iâm just usually less polite about it.â
That earned the smallest reluctant curve of Michaelâs mouth.
You both moved forward together.
It wasnât graceful. It never was. Hunger didnât care about grace. But this time there was no panic behind itâno desperate edge pushing you past yourself.
Just need. Controlled. Shared.
When it was over, the world felt steadier.
Michael wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, exhaling like heâd been holding his breath for hours. âThatâs⊠better,â he admitted, almost surprised.
âStill not great,â you added, voice steady.
âNo,â Michael agreed. âBut⊠better.â
From behind you, David made a quiet sound of approval.
When you turned, he was leaning against a rock with his arms crossed, watching both of you like he was evaluating something only he could see.
âLook at that,â he said. âMy starving little tragedies learning moderation.â
Michael rolled his eyes, but there was less tension in it now. âYouâre enjoying this way too much.â
âIâm always enjoying something.â Davidâs gaze flicked to you. âEspecially when you stop looking like youâre about to disappear into your own guilt.â
You didnât flinch this time. Just met his eyes.
âIâm not going anywhere,â you said.
Something shifted in his expression at thatâsubtle, but real.
âGood,â David said simply. Then, after a pause, added, âBecause Iâd find it irritating.â
Michael let out a quiet laugh under his breath. âThatâs your version of emotional honesty?â
âItâs my best version.â
The walk back was slower.
Not because of exhaustionâvampire bodies didnât really do exhaustion the same way anymoreâbut because none of you were rushing to escape your own thoughts.
At some point, Michael drifted a little closer to you, shoulder brushing yours again.
David noticed immediately.
âYou two are getting worse,â he said mildly.
âWorse how?â Michael asked.
Michael actually sputtered. âWeâreâwhat?â
Davidâs grin sharpened. âRelax. I didnât say it was a complaint.â
You glanced between them. âIt kind of sounded like a complaint.â
âIt was observation,â David corrected. âComplaints are louder.â
Michael muttered, âThat doesnât make it better.â
David stepped in front of both of you then, stopping you at the edge of the path where the cliffs opened back toward the distant glow of Santa Carla.
For a moment, he just looked at you.
Not like prey. Not like property.
âYou did well tonight,â he said, quieter than before.
Michaelâs brows lifted slightly, like he hadnât expected praise to feel like that.
Davidâs gaze lingered on him next. âBoth of you.â
Then, almost like it annoyed him to admit it out loud:
âI donât want to lose either of you to your heads.â
The honesty hung there, unpolished.
Michael looked away first, but his voice was softer when he spoke. âYeah. Same.â
You nodded once. âWeâre still here.â
David studied that for a long moment.
Then he smirked faintly, like he couldnât stay serious too long without it tasting wrong.
âGood,â he said again. âBecause Iâm not in the habit of sharing well with absence.â
And just like that, he turned and started walking againâleading the way back toward the lights, toward the noise, toward whatever version of eternity you were all going to survive together.
Michael moved beside you without hesitation this time.
David didnât look back.
He already knew you were both following.
