Hw zelink is one of the best political/forbidden romances in LOZ. And I’m not talking about the age of calamity one, but the Definitive version. Bc the entire war stems from a sorceress jealous of zelink’s soulmate bond, bringing link and Zelda to explore their relationship out of trauma and love. Also I’ve seen many fics of what happens after the war, and it’s always sad bc the Queen is expected to marry for her kingdom and can’t chose link leaving him to be a distant memory or a lover.
Have you explored this zelink yet? Ur art is awesome btw, I just also wanted to say hi im a fan and i LOVE ur comics!!!
Dear Bellsoftime, please excuse the delay of my reply.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Knowing people read my comics fills my heart with happiness, i always was scared to show my writing but Im getting more confident thanks to you all ❤️❤️🥲
Okay, so! If there's one aspect of Hyrule Warriors: The Definitive Edition that I appreciate, it's all the solid Zelink imagery and all the unsubtle shots that demonstrate their instant connection, the tenderness in their eyes, their sudden and complete understanding of one another. The cinematic scenes really make us feel the delightful Zelink trope of these ancient souls caught in an eternal cycle of reincarnation, recognizing each other again and again.
To answer your question: have I explored this incarnation of Zelink artistically? I'm afraid my answer will disappoint you a little: No, not really.
Get ready to throw rocks at me: I played HW but I never finished it. These Zelda spin-off games have a lot to offer story wise and visually, but the gameplay stress me out too much, and the repetition makes me lose interest quite fast. The endless hordes of enemies that spawn, the timers and objectives… I finish playing and I'm more stressed than when I sat down. The experience and atmosphere of these games are very different from main LoZ who are adventures you complete at your own pace and they are my comfort happy place. This comfort feel affects my creativity and need to draw. Despite all the fan service that HW delivers straight to my veins, I don't have the same level of engagement when I play, and the gameplay is the main culprit. I enjoy drawing what we don't see, what is left to our imagination. Also, now that your question makes me reflect on it, maybe Hyrule Warrior Zelink is so explicit and clear that I don't feel the need to fill in like for what's left ambiguous in the main games. And I drawing interpretations on which i brainrotted.
I agree that HW Zelink can generate many delightful stories, and that this duo benefits from many social and circumstantial aspects that others don't. I should pay more attention to them... Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I appreciate your interest in HW Zelink; it makes me think about what original things I could draw with these two.
Take care, and see you around! 🙏
The mark appears juuuuuust in time and saves Link's life. Blood sacrifice ritual to resurrect Ganon? Well, Hylia said " not today".
This week's random rough doodling.
I'm having fun exploring the imagery of my Zelda 2 headcanon of Link's pre-game backstory. I always pictured the Triforce of Courage mark appearing in a dramatically appropriate moment, surrounded by enemies, a second away from death or worse. I am absolutely obsessed with the fact Link is hunted down non-stop by monsters and worshipers, that his blood is the key to Ganon's resurrection. I love to think that Link was pursued as soon as Zelda 1 ends and that the 6 following years of his existence were a living nightmare.
I am a Berserk fan and in my mind, Link's living situation is similar to Guts and the consequences of the brand of sacrifice.
Cheers!

Dearest Evergreensnowqueen,
I read you loud and clear 😂🙏
No promises, but I'll try to doodle something this week or maybe i have something in my Puppet Zelda folder i never shared... Im a mom and its not easy finding quiet moments to draw disturbing yet sexy art in peace 🥲 I litteraly have to hide when I draw those, i dont even show them to my partner 😂
I miss the gloom queen too. Its just not easy to find time in general, but for Puppet Zelda art, its even harder.
Cheers and thank you for your Puppet Zelda enthusiasm! Its fuels me.
Glory to Puppet Zelda 🙏✨
"Sparring Feelings", my 92 panels Ocarina of Time fan comic is now available on Ao3 ✨
Want some Sheik x Link action and tension? That's pretty much the plot.
I'm slowing feeding my account with existing works.
Cheers!
"La Petite Mort", a Zelda II: Adventure of Link Fancomic available to read on Ao3
Summary: Link finds physical comfort in a moment of weakness. Rated Explicit for sex and blood. This is NSFW, be warned.
My very first Ao3 publication. I never share this kind of content publicly, so... Cheers!
EDIT: A couple of people reached out because they could not see the images on Ao3. I just changed image hosting website and updated the whole thing. Hopefully, this will make the comic accessible to all. Thank you everyone for your patience. I'm just getting use to this new plateform.

i want you to know that your thirst trap art of link from zelda 2 is glitching so that it's been stuck at the top of my tumblr feed for a long time now. every time i open tumblr it's the first post i see. no matter what. i think that's beautiful
Dearest @elkatt-art ,
Im happy you think this doodle is beautiful 🙏♥️ but please let me know if you want me to delete that post, i dont want it to annoy you and trouble your daily Tumblr experience 🥲for real, if you want it gone, just let me know.
This Link thirst trap is actually a layer from a panel in a short erotic Z2 comic that I never shared anywhere 🫢 I might post it on Ao3 but i dunno...
Cheers!

Hi! Hope you have been doing well! There was one detail about BOTW/TOTK Zelink I just think about is how after everything, they DON'T go back to restore and live at the castle. Instead, they live at the home Link gets with Zelda teching the kids. Like it's interesting to see them try and stay with the people of Hyrule.
Dearest @nintendofan4ever
I absolutely agree with you. Nintendo's narrative decision of making Zelink live amongst the people was perfect, brilliant and so refreshing. Zelda and Link are focussed on the future. And their own future is connected to the people.
Before Totk was released, I used to HC Zelda would repurpose the Castle and either make it the center of a federation type of government or a university. And then Totk came out, Zelda is a teacher and I lost my god***m mind over it.
In both Botw and Totk, Hyrule Castle is a constant symbol of threat visible from almost everywhere on the Map. It contained Calamity Ganon, contained malice and evil. It litteraly was Zelda's prison for over a century. Zelda's pre-calamity life there was difficult, she experienced frustration shame, sadness... This whole castle stinks of Zelda's sadness and despair.
Zelda's priority will always by the people of Hyrule and their future. ( All Zeldas ) Why would she spend her time and efforts on a Castle when the people have needs? I honestly can't picture her wanting to live in her former prison. Zelda being a teacher and a public servant in Totk is not only logical but absolute perfection.
One last thought random thought: I like to think people still call Zelda "Princess" out of respect. Her title is honorary, like Princess Leia.
Cheers! 🙏
I am such a huge fan of your artwork it's still some of my favorite Zelda fanart.
You probably have too much on your plate right now, but if I may ask, will you ever make more Puppet zelda art? I'm starting to miss those. Or maybe of the time when Link is on a self-destructive spiral when learning what happened to the real Zelda?
Dearest @laughingsour ♥️
🙏 I am so very thankful for your kind words 🙏
I posted way less in general for a couple of weeks and thats because 1- life, and 2- im trying to wrap this Botw Comic ive been working on/off on for 2 years. I doodle rough loz sketches everyday here and there on breaks but I dont post everything... I actually hesitated sharing my z2 work the last couple of weeks. Will i draw Puppet Zelda again? Well, dear friend, i never stopped 😂🤷♀️ I actually have a couple new Puppet Zelda themes sketches in my iPad but i dont think Tumblr will let me share those 🫣 Some are erotic, others are gory, some are both 😅 I guess I could try and post something, its really been a while. Im super grateful for the Puppet Zelda enthusiasm ♥️🙏
Hey guys! Do you miss our gloom queen? Do you want more??
Cheers! And glory to Puppet Zelda
Hello!!
I have a question about oot Zelink that has been weighing heavily on me, and I can only trust a true connoisseur like you to do the topic justice
There has always been one crucial detail that has made it hard for me to fully commit to shipping oot Zelink, despite me wanting to very much. I mean, they're the doomed lovers ever and actually have so little time together and can never ever go back to one another by virtue of being (and having to stay!!) in DIFFERENT TIMELINES like. Damn I *see* your vision
But, see, before we get to the doomed yuri part of their dynamic, one has to consider the part where Link is. very much a nine-year-old in a teenage body, while Sheik/Zelda is an actual teen/young adult. Shipping them, while knowing there's technically such an age gap between them, has always been hard for me, so I really wanted to hear your take on this, if you have one
And you know, if the answer amounts to "yeah we ignore all that and have Link BE his adult age" I got no problem with that because. again. this dynamic is just such a feast and that's what I tend to do anyway. But if there's a plausible explanation a la "he was forced to grow up FAST" then that's even better, since that adds to the entire tragedy aspect of Link's character specifically
Anyway I'm having some oot thoughts and you're the main person I associate with these two walking tragedies, have a nice day✌️
Dearest @pitchblackespresso , your question is very welcome, I was just in need of a little positive mental exercise.
First, I just want to take this opportunity to mention the joy your BotW comics bring to me. It's always a pleasure to read your stories and the voice you give to our beloved characters is lovely. Guys, if you haven't already, go read Pitchblack Expresso's comics NOW.
Ok. So, the points you mention regarding the age gap between Link and Zelda in Ocarina of Time are absolutely valid and logical. If we take the facts presented in Ocarina of Time at face value, you're right, the ship is questionable. I'll do my best to explain in more details the interpretations I draw from the games that lead me to find this pairing so nuanced, complex, profound, bittersweet and tragic. Of course, it implies unnatural magic aging, duh! But there's more to it.
Disclaimer:
As usual, when I start writing a whole accidental essay, here's a small disclaimer: I don't claim to have the definitive answer, or that my view is absolute. I don't speak for all OoT Zelink shippers. My answer is based on my own interpretations of the events that take place in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and my deductions following the facts presented in Twilight Princess and Windwaker. Take also into account that my OoT Zelink ship is Link and adult timeline Zelda/Sheik. My answer is also based on 28 years of brainrot. (Wow. I'm not getting any younger....) Please remember English is not my first language so forgive any awkward sentences.
Let's do this!
A quick OoT Zelink recap
The foundation of OoT Zelink is their interactions and their shared plot points explored in the original game itself: shared destiny, fate, time travel, body dysphoria, duty, sacrifice and choosing the greater good over personal interests.
But.
This particular Zelink incarnation, in my opinion, gets its definitive appeal and gut punch when you consider the plot and symbolism of Majora's Mask and start brainrotting and deducing what happened to both Link and Zelda throughout their respective post-games lives while assuming they never stopped loving each other.
Oot zelink is about all the consequences that came with Zelda's decision to send Link back to his childhood, not knowing there was no childhood for him to go back to and presumably unknowingly splitting time-space for an act of love and mercy, despite her own well being and needs.
Writing all this makes me realize OoT Zelink kind of surfs on a story trope that I usually really dislike: the "misunderstanding". Link could not, in the time frame of the game, completely convince Zelda he is a real grown up. As for Zelda/Sheik, she ultimately chose to see Link rationally rather than listening to her emotions and gut feelings. In the end, she could not believe Link was completely adult. She concluded he wasn't completely free and aware of his choices. She did have feelings for him...but they were illogical and irrelevant in the balance of Link's well being and the greater good. That's why, I believe, she made the decision to send Link back to live his childhood. And aside from the fact her choice shattered reality and influenced the whole LoZ franchise forever, it condemned both herself and Link to a life of isolation, regret, bitterness, probable on/off resentment and...mutual yearning (my fav part)
What was your ask about again?
I will now attempt to answer the question which, fundamentally, can make this ship problematic if taken literally at face value: "Is Link an adult or not?" My answer is: "it's complicated".
His unnatural aging makes him an oddity that cannot be categorized. He fits nowhere and that, in itself, is the tragedy of Link's body dysphoria, a characteristic that makes him my favorite incarnation of Link.
Even though Link did age mentally through the events of Ocarina of Time (Another essay on this topic here), I sadly believe that Link is not completely adult by the end of Ocarina of Time, BUT, he definitely is an adult by the end of Majora's Mask.
Majora's Mask begins with Link leaving Hyrule to find his fairy, Navi. But Navi is not just a character and a z targeting game asset. She's a symbol. The symbol of Link's childhood and innocence. The quest to find Navi in Termina is literally Link trying to find his lost childhood in hopes of living the life Zelda wished for him. But this adventure doesn't make him a child again. On the contrary, Link actually completes his aging process. The aging and maturity Link needs to fully transition to adulthood is gained through the game's masks. (Zeltik actually has a super thorough and clear video on this, I interpret MM the same way as him and he is way more eloquent than me. He also has a lovely British accent. Check it out.)
The Mask makes Link metaphorically grow up. He starts as a prisoner of the deku mask, the only mask possessed by the spirit of a child. This deku child's body is a prison, Link is powerless in that form, no one takes him seriously and he hates it. Next, he acquires the goron and zora masks, which gives him the appearance, power and credibility of an adult. And, at the very end, Link obtains the iconic Fierce Deity Mask, literally his adult face. When he wears it, he not only gains his adult body back but he is so overkill, so powerful, we can deduce its Link's own power fantasy and utter most desire. He is his accomplished self.
How does Link acquire the Fierce Deity Mask? By helping people. By managing schedules, taking responsibilities and fixing relationships. Aka by adulting. The best quest involves helping a man trapped in the body of a child reuniting with his beloved as the world is ending (Anju and Kafei are a OoT Zelink metaphor and i will die on this hill) Bottom line, all the side quests necessary to acquire the Fierce Deity Mask are actions needed to grow up. The moment Link obtains it, his journey towards adulthood is complete. His grief for Navi is complete too. He will never find her because he can never be a child again. But he is still stuck in the wrong body.
For Zelink, Link grew up too late. He did it alone and far away from the Zelda he fell in love with. And he now has to exist with body dysphoria and the pain of belonging nowhere... And having been "mercifully rejected" by his soulmate. And now, with all this in mind the table is set for OoT Zelink angst brainrot 🔥.
Conclusion and going feral over yuri doomed love
As I said before, the pleasure I personally get from OoT Zelink is just thinking of their doomed love, separated by time and space, yearning for one another as they do their best to go on with their lives without ever being able to completely move on. They clearly had full lives, full of challenges but They can never forget and get over one another. Cuz they are f* Zelink!!! They are soulmates separated by time and space and they yearn! And by yearning I mean long term yearning. Yearning that lasts for a lifetime and goes beyond it. Yearning that lasts after death. And that's goth and metal and this is where my creative sandbox is. That's how you get a stuck between life and death Hero's Shade yearning to see his true love one last time. Its how you get Sheik sneaking their way into Hero's Shade plane of existence to find him. This opens the door for stories that can depict OoT Zelink as nuanced and flawed characters who do selfish things to find each other again and I live for those stories. There's so much angst to think about, I'd need another essay to list it. The cherry on the cake of OoT Zelink Angst being Child timeline Zelda
I will end my long ass reply with one last thought concerning Child Timeline Zelda and her heartbreaking angst.
That age gap you mention in your original question. Most people see it instantly with Link and Sheik but if you are a person who headcanons Link unnaturally aged, that age gap still exists between Link and Child Timeline Zelda.
Of course, a talented and creative mind can work around that just like I did here, but here, in this house, it's angst, heartbreak, suffering and....well...yearning. But Child Timeline Zelda is another topic for another time. (I have so many heart breaking prompts with her... I hurt that Zelda out of love, okay....)
I hope this freaky chunk of text made sense and actually answered your question ♥️
Cheers and see you around! And thanks!!

A spectral embrace
I still liked that rough sketch from last year, and cleaned it. I will never be over OoT Zelink. Never.
If you love Zelda II, why are your thoughts on Link with fairy spell?
Content Warning: In short, my reply is body horror. Skip it if that makes you uncomfortable.
Dearest @jbrpg
Your ask's timing is strangely perfect! I am currently writing an outline for a visual retelling of Zelda II, based off my headcanons and interpretations. Its a project id like to do after wrapping my current comic. The Fairy Spell is one of the story beats i look forward drawing the most!
I guess most people see the Fairy Spell as goofy and light-hearted. I don't. Under the game's vintage and simple pixel art lies, in my opinion, untapped body horror angst potential and visual nightmare fuel 🔥
Upon casting, Link goes through an unbearable and disturbing physical transformation. His bones cracks, breaks and merges back differently. His muscles snaps and re-fusion in an abnormal way. He has wings growing out of his back... when i think of it, I can only picture Cronenberg-like imagery (think "The Fly")
The Fairy Spell is one of the most useful skills of Zelda II and I like to think that the cost of using is terrible. Just pure suffering and agony. 🔥🤌Remember when MM Link transforms using masks, wailing his lungs out? Z2 Link's transformation is like that.
By the way, I headcanon distressing body horror in Majora's Mask too 🫣
Thank you so much for you deep dive ask, i really enjoy those! Take care!
