My cheeks are bright red, I am humbled by your appreciation for my Z2 designs. They might keep changing though because i haven't been drawing them so steadily for that long and designs need drawing repetition to settle. The truth is, I'm not satisfied at all with Zelda's design, she needs lots of work to figure out her visual personality. As for Link, i think he is pretty much there. I have so much fun drawing this incarnation. Highly inspired by the official artworks, I like drawing his strange akward face, yet still handsome and full of personality. He actually really fits the description of a stray cat for sure (is that what you meant by TomCat? Im not familiar with this term) He lives outside, always on the road, surviving, he is roughed around and needs love and comfort and a soft bed ♥️

I can't deny or acknowledge Z2 art on my backlog right now. I have to stop hyping Zelink projects because life happens all the time and they keep being pushed back and i hate disappointing. Its also my summer convention rush right now and I won't be feeding my account for a couple more weeks 🫠

Disapproval eh?...mmmm maybe or maybe not. Depends on your HC I'm guessing. Without going too deep in my Puppet Zelda HC, the version I draw was uploaded real Zelda's Pre-calamity valid angst. She's fueled by real Zelda's anger, fear and desires... but over the top cranked to 11. So with that in mind, and the fact that both the Queen and Urbosa are Zelda's moms, i actually think they would pity their daughter's evil doppelganger. They couldn't help Zelda process those negative emotions while she was experiencing them 💔 Puppet Zelda is Zelda's toxic mirror and this reflection shows Queenbosa were they "failed" as parents 😞

I can't choose, This is sooooo sooooo hard. Dude, music is so IMPORTANT for me and my creativity. I love all kind music, from cheese pop to black metal, old and recent. I'm always down for Karaoke night or to plug my Rock Band plastic Instruments during a house party (I cant tell you how much money I spent on Rock band songsits ridiculous) Ok so, lets go with obvious classics from some of my top artists, an broad example of the type of music I listen to while drawing Zelink Content. Yeah, Im a millennial and sucker for british rock, british synthpop and moody metal... Especially if its horny or depressing.

Been an hardcore Muse fan since the early 2000's, when I was in animation school. I drew so much on their music. They were already huge in europe but no one knew them on the american continent back then but i was always specifically on the lookout for British rock bands... Map is probably my favorite song because its basically Enjoy the Silence (without a doubt my fav song of all time) but played faster. Depeche Mode influenced EVERYONE btw.

Okay, so! If there's one aspect of Hyrule Warriors: The Definitive Edition that I appreciate, it's all the solid Zelink imagery and all the unsubtle shots that demonstrate their instant connection, the tenderness in their eyes, their sudden and complete understanding of one another. The cinematic scenes really make us feel the delightful Zelink trope of these ancient souls caught in an eternal cycle of reincarnation, recognizing each other again and again.

To answer your question: have I explored this incarnation of Zelink artistically? I'm afraid my answer will disappoint you a little: No, not really.

Get ready to throw rocks at me: I played HW but I never finished it. These Zelda spin-off games have a lot to offer story wise and visually, but the gameplay stress me out too much, and the repetition makes me lose interest quite fast. The endless hordes of enemies that spawn, the timers and objectives… I finish playing and I'm more stressed than when I sat down. The experience and atmosphere of these games are very different from main LoZ who are adventures you complete at your own pace and they are my comfort happy place. This comfort feel affects my creativity and need to draw. Despite all the fan service that HW delivers straight to my veins, I don't have the same level of engagement when I play, and the gameplay is the main culprit. I enjoy drawing what we don't see, what is left to our imagination. Also, now that your question makes me reflect on it, maybe Hyrule Warrior Zelink is so explicit and clear that I don't feel the need to fill in like for what's left ambiguous in the main games. And I drawing interpretations on which i brainrotted.

I agree that HW Zelink can generate many delightful stories, and that this duo benefits from many social and circumstantial aspects that others don't. I should pay more attention to them... Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I appreciate your interest in HW Zelink; it makes me think about what original things I could draw with these two.

This week's random rough doodling.

I'm having fun exploring the imagery of my Zelda 2 headcanon of Link's pre-game backstory. I always pictured the Triforce of Courage mark appearing in a dramatically appropriate moment, surrounded by enemies, a second away from death or worse. I am absolutely obsessed with the fact Link is hunted down non-stop by monsters and worshipers, that his blood is the key to Ganon's resurrection. I love to think that Link was pursued as soon as Zelda 1 ends and that the 6 following years of his existence were a living nightmare.

I am a Berserk fan and in my mind, Link's living situation is similar to Guts and the consequences of the brand of sacrifice.
