Snippet:

Normally after AA they grab dinner; but, tonight Eddie has a gig. He's been writing music lately; and when an old friend from Chicago heard about it, she begged him to play for her birthday. Steve's just glad Eddie asked Jeff to bring his Warlock, or it would have made their fall a lot worse.

“I didn’t want you waiting out in the snow for too long. You’ll get sick.” Eddie explains with a shrug. They walk to the nearby coffee shop hand in hand, lost in their own little world. Eddie’s talking adamantly about his D&D campaign, hands moving with excitement, pulling Steve’s arm along, not that Steve minds. Apparently, Eddie uses the dice Steve got him for the BBEG’s rolls to add to the drama. The heavy dice smashing against the wooden table keeps all the players on edge, and the LEDs add a menacing glow.

Moments like this are so precious to Steve. Every smile the alpha throws his way, every laugh, every kiss; Steve knows he almost missed out on them. Now, he cherishes every one.

Even the blinding flashes of the paparazzi can’t squander his mood; especially when it means Eddie tucks him under his arm, guiding Steve into the building and into the safety of a hidden table marked off for them.

Summary:
