An Adventure in Sta. Ines: A Day of Fun, Cold Water, and Beautiful Views!!!
We went to the beautiful mountains of Sta. Ines in Tanay because of our teammate’s birthday celebration! Even though the weather wasn’t exactly in our favor, with the rain coming down as we arrived, it actually made the experience even better.
For me, it was my first time bathing in a river. It felt surreal! The water was freezing, but it added to the thrill, especially with the stunning mountain views all around us. It was so refreshing to just soak in the natural beauty of the place. Meanwhile, the elders who came with us were already busy preparing our food, adding to the anticipation.
While waiting for the food, we explored the river, trying to find deep spots where we could jump in and have some fun. Our coach led us to a decent spot for jumping, even though it wasn’t that deep, but that didn’t stop us! We still dove in, laughed, and had an amazing time. Then, it was time for the ultimate birthday meal: a boodle fight! We all gathered around and devoured the food together, a classic Filipino experience that never disappoints.
After a quick rest, we got creative and stacked stones by the river, just for fun and to pass the time. But our adventure didn’t stop there. We continued our quest to find deeper parts of the river. Though we didn’t find anything too deep, we didn’t let that hold us back — we made the best of it by making our own little pool and continuing to enjoy the day.
It was a simple day, but one that will definitely stick in my memory. The cold weather, the river, the food, and most importantly, the laughter made it all worthwhile. Until next time, Sta. Ines!
