A late pride month update (list here) for a couple of art/craft things I did. There were a few others I wanted to do - or somewhat started - but I can do them some other time.
One was the tie-dye. Now, I haven't done tie-dye since elementary school (literally, 3 decades ago), so I didn't even know how this was going to go. A cotton sheet was meant to be a tester thing, but I ended up doing both that and the shirt at the same time anyway. The tie-dye kit was a cheap thing from walmart. The gloves provided were too big, and dye was able to seep through it on one hand. Before rinsing and washing, the colors were more vibrant (which was expected) and covered more. Rinsing and washing removed some of the color.

The shirt, front and back, in rainbow. It was literally covered in dye. Rinsing and washing removed a lot of dye. And, the middle came out a little muddy. whatever.
Next, I finally got to the melted crayons. I kept forgetting to buy the crayons. When I went shopping on July 3rd, I forgot them again, because I didn't write it down. So, the next time I went shopping, I remembered. It took a while.
I've never actually done this before, but I watched a variety of videos. Using a hairdryer on low setting did absolutely nothing, so I had to switch to high setting because that's the only other option. They melted but some wax flew off onto the kitchen table (that table's seen a lot of crafting in its time, so it's whatever).
not exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but it's fine. Even has a pool of dried crayon wax stuck to the bottom, like poured paint.
