Keto Meal Recipe - Pan Fried Salmon with Roasted Brussels Sprouts

I wanted to start eating more Salmon because I read that it is higher fat and better for a Keto deit. One of the biggest things I’m having a hard time with is getting enough fat during the day. So I bought more fatty foods to add in moderation. So far pan fried Salmon is my favorite way to cook it.

Some important tips about black pepper. Avoid the black pepper that is already ground because it just doesn’t have the same snap in the taste. I had some already group pepper from Wal-Mart which I used my first time and that stuff tasted like ashes. Watch out for this kind of thing. If your going to buy spices get high quality organic. I wish I had the green thumb to grow my own spices and garnishments but I tend to kill anything I try and grow.

Lets get into this recipe. So fresh Salmon has a better taste but I use frozen too. Just ensure after thawing the Salmon you pat it dry to make sure it’s not all water because the seasoning will not stick right. On the skinless side spread about one fourth tsp sea salt. Then apply your ground pepper corns. You can do finely or more coarsely, just make sure that you can only see a little bit of the pinky color from the salmon.

To cook the salmon put a couple tablespoons of oil in your pan. First fry the fish skinless side down for around 5-6 minutes with a healthy simmer sound on medium heat. Turn over fish and cook skin side for 3-4 minutes on the same heat. After the fish is cooked remove from heat and right away melt 3 tablespoons of salted butter in the pan and squeeze half a lemon. This will create a great thin sauce. Plate your fish and pour the sauce on top of the Salmon and your done!

If you’d rather bake and not fry 40 mins on 350 degrees cook thick sliced bacon pretty well but check it now and then because you don’t want it to dry out and get all weird. #keto
