Today I’m showing you some trends that go perfectly with that beach lifestyle, and even if you don’t live near a beach these trends will get you into the Spring spirit!

1. Pom pom shorts.

This trend screams beach, right? I love it. And the great thing about this trend is that it’s so popular that you can find this style almost anywhere! I love these shorts over a bathing suit or even paired with some wedges for a night out.

2. Floral pants.

Floral pants are back! I hope you didn’t get rid of yours from about 2 Springs ago, because they are back in full force this season! I had at least 5 pairs of floral pants 2 years ago, but threw most of them out :( I guess I’m going to have to go shopping and restock! These pants are great in all different colors and prints. I love the more tropical print in the picture above!

3. Shirt dresses.

I am so obsessed with this trend! I think it’s so great. Just like the pom pom shorts, this style would go great over a bathing suit or paired with heels for a dressed up look. Also, if T-Swift is rocking it, you know it’s in. I think my favorite is this chambray one worn Julie by from Sincerely Jules.

So, how about this dress, right!? I found this dress at an adorable boutique in downtown Chattanooga. The boutique is called Backstreet Betty’s Boutique and they had a great clearance section! Their clearance rack was marked down 75%! I got this dress, which was originally $80, for $20!

I love the print on this dress. It is perfect for Spring! And the open back gives a little something special!

I paired this great dress with my beige booties, which I got at Sears for $15. I wanted to be a little more “hipster” with this look. I know it’s totally contradictory to “try” to be a hipster, but whatever. I also added my Nordstrom Rack hat for that hipster edge.

This barn is incredible! At Cloudland Station, they use this barn for beautiful weddings and other events. It creates an awesome setting for a wedding reception with a great southern charm. Today I’m talking about a fun day at the Tennessee Aquarium with my love :)

Believe it or not, in almost 7 years of being together, Will and I had never been to an aquarium together! Weird, right? Well, we decided to change that during our trip to TN. When asking people from Chattanooga what we should do while we were there, everyone said to go to the aquarium and I’m so glad we did! It was such a fun time just exploring and hanging out together.

We goofed around a lot and acted silly, because who cares? We were in a town where no one knows us and we probably won’t see any of those people again, so why not have fun? Plus, it’s hard not to have fun with this guy.

Here’s the look I wore for bouncing around town.

Since it was raining all day and we would be walking around a lot, I wanted to wear something comfy and durable. I started with this new chambray dress form Target. I found this dress on the clearance rack for only $8.38! I mean seriously, who could pass that up!?

I paired this chambray dress with my comfortable oxford style shoes from Payless. You might remember these shoes from this post | Layering Up | I got them for only $10 and I love them. They are perfect for walking around in the rain. I also wore my black leather jacket to bring some edge to the look.

Lastly, I added some stacked bracelet and my new crossbody clutch from Payless. About this purse, it was marked at $15 and I looked at my friend and said, “Eh, that’s too much for this little purse,” and the girl at the register said, “I’ll give it to you for $10,” so I said, “Sold!” I never knew you could barter at Payless, but now I do ;)

We had so much fun just bopping around town and being silly. Sometimes Will has to remind that it’s okay to be silly. I get embarrassed pretty easily if I’m thinking too hard, so sometimes he has to just embarrass me until I get over it and I love him for that!

Don’t be too serious, it’s not worth it!

My amazing hubby took all of these photos in a house on the Cloudland Station property while on our anniversary trip.

When I packed my suitcase for this trip, I didn’t put this outfit together specifically, but I love the way it turned out. This top is from H&M and I found it on the sale rack for $15! You might not notice it in some photos, but this top has some really cute details. It has some embroidery work through the middle and lace on the sleeves and neckline.

Instead of pairing this top with normal denim, I wore my ash grey jeans from Kohls. These jeans were such a great purchase. I wear them constantly! I got them for only $10.80, but honestly I would’ve paid at least $25 for them because that’s how great they are. I felt that pairing the grey with this look gave it more of an edge.

Lastly, I added my favorite little hat from Target for $16.99. I was searching high and low for a hat like this and I finally found this one when looking at Target.com. I thought this hat added a little southern charm to this look. The last little details I added were some rose gold jewelry and grey Steve Madden flats with edgy spikes on the back. Side note: I got these flats from the Rack Room outlet for only $23!

I don’t about you all, but it feels like it’s at least Thursday to me. Yesterday was such a long day that it had to take up more than 24 hours.

Anyway, I’m going to distract myself from this already slow week and show you some trends I’ve tried from my Trends to try list!

Anyhow, my anniversary trip to the mountains on the border of Georgia and Tennessee was amazing. Will and I did a lot of laughing, eating, and napping. Lots of napping and it was glorious.

The property of Cloudland Station is incredible. It is filled with acres and acres of beautiful trees, old time buildings, and incredible cabins.

Will and I spent most of our time roaming around the property, visiting the sweet shoppe, and playing games like ping pong and checkers.

It was a great place to get away from the rush and hurry of life and just reconnect.

Here’s a look I wore for a run into town.

It is so important to take the time to remember what you love so much about your significant other.

On our trip I was reminded of how ridiculous and hilarious my husband is and how silly we are together. We got back to the fun loving couple that life sometimes makes us forget about. I’m hoping in our next year of marriage I will take the time to remember that more often.

Here’s my pastel print look.

These are my new favorite pants. In the middle of my 25 hours of work from Friday to Saturday, I found myself at Marshall’s! For some people, shopping is work, but for me, it’s a break.

Anyway, I got these pants at Marshall’s for only $12.99!

The thing I love about these pants is that the print is small, so it’s not overwhelming, and there as so many beautiful pastel colors in them. You can style these pants so many different ways!

For my look today, I kept it semi-casual. I paired these Rewash pants with a simple white v-neck that I’ve had in my closet for years. I also paired it with some J.Lo nude heels from Kohls. I honestly can’t remember how much I paid for these, but I know I had a coupon! Seriously, don’t go to Kohls unless you have a coupon. They release coupons at least once a month, so just hold off until you can find one!

Since I kept the top and shoes neutral, I decided to do a lot of jewelry. I stacked some of my favorite Beauty & Brains Bangles bracelets, along with a rose gold Fossil watch, and some Alex & Ani bangles. I got that blue stone bangles for only $7 during the BB&B flash sale! I also wore this gorgeous necklace, which was a Christmas present from my friend Camille. And my last jewelry details was these mint double sided earrings from Target. They were only $7!

As for my hair, I took a shower last night and braided it hoping I would have lovely waves this morning, instead I woke up with hair that was still wet. So, I took the braid out and did a really loose side braid. I was happy with the way it turned out. Because I slept with my hair in a braid, the top had a lot of body to it.

Lately I’ve been showing some runway trends and bathing suit trends that you can’t really try out just yet, so I thought today I would show some trends that are more realistic for you to try right now.

1. Stripes.

This is a super easy trend for you to try! I’m sure all of you have a striped shirt in your closet and lucky for you they are big this spring. Whether you pair your stripes with a floral print or some cut offs, you are going to be on trend! Stripes in general are in, but especially black and white stripes.

2. Sleeveless Trench.

The sleeveless trench is a trend that kind of came into play last spring, but faded out quickly, but I’m hoping this spring it’s here to stay! I love this look. I think adding a sleeveless trench over an outfit gives it that extra pop. This trend is also great for transitioning from winter to spring. For the colder days, throw a long sleeved top or sweater under it!

I could only find a few sleeveless trenches, but here they are: Navy Sleeveless Trench & Black Sleeveless Trench.

3. Drop Waist Dresses.

The drop waist dress was also a short lived trend last spring, but I am loving it all over again! This cut is so easy to wear, because it’s not tight anywhere. It just hang on your body and looks adorable! This style can be dress up or really casual, which is one of the things I love about it.

If you don’t know what the new Ava & Viv line is, it’s the new plus size line at target and it’s amazing! I teamed up with my friend Lindsey to model the looks.

Who doesn’t love pink, right? Well we do and we loved his pink and purple floral top from the Ava & Viv line. We paired it with her blush pink pants and some nude laser cut heels. This top is a great basic piece to have for Spring. It’s bright and easy to wear!

Ava & Viv Jacket

I love this Ava & Viv blazer! It is such a good piece to have in your closet. It’s a little more expensive than most of the pieces, but it is a piece that you will get a lot of use out of! We paired this blazer with some nice, dark wash jeans, a bright statement necklace, and some cognac heels. Pairing this jacket with the brighter colors brings it into Spring. For a dressier look, you could pair this blazer with a dress or skirt and it would look awesome!

Ava & Viv Top

I saved the best for last! I am completely in love with this look. I think it is the PERFECT look for Spring! This top is just…amazing. The color of this shirt just pops and the shape of it will compliment pretty much any body type. The great part about this shirt is the sash. It cinches the waist to give you the perfect shape!

We paired this shirt with the same jeans as the blazer and we kept the jewelry simple. A simple gold necklace, brown watch, and black and brown espadrilles. I love this look, because it looks effortless!
