I’m one of the best mothers you’ve ever seen.

‪If “keeping the peace” means silencing your thoughts, feelings and emotions so you don’t escalate someone else’s poor behavior/attitude.... that isn’t peace. That’s obedience and you don’t owe that to anyone. ‬

Joy is contagious. I’m realizing I was also always happy. I just glorified sadness. It’s taken until right now to realize you can be introspective and happy. You’d probably prove more so. Everyone’s miserable. I’ve never been interested in a miserable person, why was I so obsessed with being one?

‪You don’t have to be a spectacle for your life to be real. ‬

At some point you grow up and realize some people love their misery. You can’t change that about people. You can’t help people do what’s best for them. You can’t give enough advice or help or love because ultimately people end up where they want to be. It’s not your responsibility to go the extra mile for people who won’t even go the extra few steps for themselves
