With festival season coming our way and the major fashion influences from the most stylish festival of the year Coachella , it is important that we not only pack the essentials but also key fashion pieces that will bring you through that, hopefully dry day or weekend.
In Ireland you can never be over prepared for a festival. Irish weather is so unpredictable. So itâs all about having cool, funky but affordable looks for all you festival lovers. Donât overspend as you never know what state they will be in when you arrive home. Buy simple pieces then over accessorize to stay right on trend.
1. The Obligatory denim shorts: They are a key statement for not just festivals but also the summer season. Team the shorts with a basic tank top or oversized t-shirt and a leather waistcoat (very Kate Moss inspired). Â We would all love a pair of Hunter wellies like Kate Moss but if your budget doesnât stretch that far, any pair of wellies from Pennys, Dunnes and many more will look just as good and equally on trend. Â Change them up with a pair of knee high socks.
Add aviator sunglasses to give it that cool edgy look. Such a simple outfit but comfortable and easy to wear.
Tip: Buy a few pairs of cheaper denim shorts and cut them up. Make them your own style.
2. Simple Strappy Playsuit or Dress: Although playsuits are not port-a-loo friendly they are super cute and super comfortable. Or if youâre not a fan of playsuits try a simple dress, one piece is simple and easy to carry. Team it with an oversized denim or leather jacket.
Doc martins, Chelsea boots or loafers  would look great with this look but with the mucky fields at Irish festivals it may be best to stick with the wellies.
Pop your hair in a messy plait then add earrings and loads of bangles. You will look super cool
Strappy play-suit with cute sunglasses, floral turban head bandana , chain hair crown & the amazing hunter wellies
 3. Rain jacket: Never go to a festival in Ireland without a rain jacket or some sort of waterproof cover. Bring it as well as your leather or denim jacket. Donât  overspend on a rain coat , just something simple that will keep you dry.
4. Pyjama Pants: So if youâre not into showing your legs or find denims uncomfortable , pyjama pants are the way to go. They are everywhere in the shops , bring a few pairs , great for sleeping in too if you forget your pjs. They would be great for your last day when youâre feeling ruff and your tan has faded. They are effortless but very on trend. Again team them with a tank top, string top and plenty of jewellery. Maybe throw your hair in a top knot .

Necklaces and bracelets ; layer up the necklaces and fill your arm with bracelets. Chokers are very on trend this season too.
Floral crown head wrap, chain hair crowns
Bowler & fedora style hats

If you really want to stand out from the crowd, a matching two piece set looks great. I personally love them. Matching shorts and top, skirt or top will be sure to grab others attention. Wear something like this on your first day then pack it away so it wonât get ruined.
Festival shopping is always a fun time of year. I canât wait to start mine.
Celebrity fashion at Coachella 2014
The Haim sisters looking effortlessly stylish in their denims and over-sized tshirts with Kate Bosworth going for a one piece detailed cutout dress. I love this look especially with the added choker, loafers and the cool top knot. Thumbs up to Kate.
Two of my fab friends Kirsty Moore, Pamela Fagan and I (when I was a blondie) off to the phoenix park in our festival gear.
