The Carved Bowls by Kutraq Studio

Inspired by the texture left in a yoghurt while eating it with a spoon , The Carved Bowls are a set of solid wood pin trays that combine with different sized concave areas. Ideal for the entrance of your home or your desk, you can leave your keys, coins, rings, or your personal items there. The different compartments allow you to separate the different objects by type or to create storage partitions in a shared flat (each member with a different area). The small version works perfectly as a jewellery tray on your bedside table or as a serving dish in restaurants.

Kutarq studio focuses on spatial and product design. It’s led by Jordi López Aguiló, architect and designer who has collaborated with prestigious firms such as: JDS Architects Copenhagen, Ibos et Vitart Paris, IVICSA Valencia, Bruno Mader Paris, and Eduard Bru Barcelona. Since setting up his own studio in 2012, he has worked in various fields ranging from furniture and lighting to interior design. Each project is the result of a methodical process, in which material and formal research have a very important role. The final pieces are timeless, simple, innovative and above all are meant to meet user needs.

Today I received a tweet about this brand new Indiegogo project from @adaptablelegs. As you can see, I usually I don’t write a lot because the aim of my blog is inspiration and not promotion. But today the vision of these two guys inspired me to write about their design and project.

Francois Elphik & Ta Yang Hsu made up a simple design that is both elegant and functional. Two different table legs designs that can be simply tighten up on any board (table top, door, screen, plank, etc.) of any size and material to become a unique table.

IMHO it’s the perfect summary of what any design project should be.

Kai

Designed with the goal of merging sculptural flair into a commercial product, Kai is a stackable, metal, wire-frame chair designed and made in Britain. Aimed at the domestic and contract markets, the chair can be powder coated in a wide range of colours to increase both adaptability and durability.

Every detail and line has been considered and perfected during the design of Kai. From the subtle flare of the front legs that enable elegant and secure stacking, to the gradient spacing between the bars to provide optimal support and comfort where it is required most.

The Langoliere

This ladder like object is a pretty awesome multi purpose furniture, that can be set up as a coat hanger, miscellaneous holder or shelf. The concept was created by Manrico Freda.

Proplamp

A cloud like lamp made of biodegradable non-woven material so you can reshape it the way you like, to taylor make your special illuminated cloud. This awesome design is made by Erwin Zwiers and Margje Teeuwen.
