Hear it all the time, everyone seems to master it but me!

This is about a personal experience in becoming a positive person.

It’s okay if you think it’s a hard thing to do, all you have to do is keep on trying.

You can’t just start being positive just because you decided to, especially for big time pessimists out there like I was. The truth is being positive is a process, and being conscious of your thoughts is only step one, step two is to start repeating the positive aspects in your life out loud if you have to, for me it was like a battle of words whenever I caught myself thinking: “looks like it’s already a bad day!” I immediately look for the bright side like “Today’s weather is beautiful, it’s going to be an awsome day!”

Not going to lie, it took me ages, but finally got around focusing on the half-full of the glass, because that is what keeps you balanced when seeking the happy self you want to be, it’s the mindfulness.

Other things that helped are having the courage to admit what you are good at, and don’t let perfectionist media or comparing yourself to others be in your way of developing your potential and be content with your own achievements no matter how small they are.

What if you know your passion but you are not confident enough about it?

I know for sure that I am not the only one. I know exactly what my passion is, unfortunately I chose to bury it.

For the longest time I kept my passion, the thing that I would lose all sense of time doing, hidden deep inside, and that is writing and sharing my thoughts with people as in blogging, for the simple reason that I am not good at it, or that people will judge me and make fun of me, so I just did the right thing that I was supposed to do, followed school orientation on highly paid careers, or parents’ wishes.

One thing I would say to the older me is: work hard as you always did, but never forget your passion, make time for it and polish it.

I hope at this right moment that you all turn back and grab that forgotten passion within you and bring it to life and make it part of your routine, who knows! It might just become your job and what’s better than that?
