it’s so interesting when someone goes from being a stranger to a signif other. i have vivid memories of making awkward eye contact, quickly averting my eyes, and feeling an internal sense of face-palm-can-i-crawl-into-a-hole-now-ness. now when we lock eyes there’s a distinct sense of safety, tenderness, and a cheeky acknowledgement that our time together is now a shared experience. there is now an "us". how does someone go from the former to the latter? how and why does such a drastic shift happen? no idea but thank the Lord that it does.

the first time i had a pumpernickel bagel as a child and realized it wasn't chocolate flavored is like the first time i had a taro flavored birthday cake as a child and realized it wasn't "purple ice cream". sometimes life is full of gastronomical disappointments.

standing on the other side of the promise. God REALLY came through! we'll see Your goodness in the land of the living, indeed. wowowow.

even when i have arrived, i am still becoming. it's tiring to constantly be growing, but also wonderful to never be stagnant.

waiting….. days, hours, minutes the last hours or so before i see you the anticipation renders my brain useless and blissful

kindness and a tender heart never fade.

came across this comment that rita springer had left on someone's instagram post and am like WOW. gonna take this one for myself: "sometimes treasures are hidden so God can take them out and spend time feeling lucky and blessed...... before he shares them with the world. timing is everything."

i need to protect the seed of that thing that i know to be true about myself, even if nobody else affirms it.

re-reading old birthday cards as i unpack and i am so thankful for my exceedingly kind and supportive friends. also, few things speak louder to my heart than a bunny drawing. so much effort, so much love.
